PartTimeJedi
Hi, Can anyone advise the best audiophile FireWire cable I can buy for FireWire 800 plug to FireWire 800 (LaCie HD to Macbook). It needs to be 9 pin to 9 pin. Thanks Link to comment
Panelhead
For connection between the external drive and computer the cableSHOULD not matter. The Oyaide are very well made and look expensive. A flat LaCie gimme cable may work just as well. The most important thing is keep them short as possible. I like 1 meter or less. Most who tried recommend 2 meters max. Whatcame with the LaCie? I have a couple but threw the cables in my pile. I was up to around 25 FW cables. Tried giving them away. I only use one now. George 2012 Mac Mini, i5 - 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM. SSD, PM/PV software, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre 4 channel interface. Daysequerra M4.0X Broadcast monitor., My_Ref Evolution rev a , Klipsch La Scala II, Blue Sky Sub 12 Clarett used as ADC for vinyl rips. Corning Optical Thunderbolt cable used to connect computer to 4Pre. Dac fed by iFi iPower and Noise Trapper isolation transformer. Link to comment
wgb113
I find the throw-in Lacie cables to be perfectly fine and have ordered different connector variations lengths from Monoprice that performed just as good as well. Bill Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Mac Mini->Roon + Tidal->KEF LS50W Link to comment
