Rendu Support Thread

Recommended Posts

Today, the Linn Kazoo app on my iPad no longer connects to my microRendu and I can not listen to TIDAL HQ streams feeding my system.

i have rebooted both the microRendu and the iPad, reinstalled Kazoo and followed all the setup steps recommended by Sonore, but nothing works.

All I get is a Kazoo screen with a “Waiting for rendu00D351...” message and a rotating gizmo. (See attached screenshot).

I have been a happy camper since I got my microRendu in 2016, but I am stumped by this problem.

SOLVED: the VPN on my iPad had to be switched off. Evidently microRendudoes not like VPN.

Hi, I’ve downloaded Roon on a 2 month trial, and trying to set it up on my microRendu, but to no avail.

It never shows up in Roon as a Zone to choose from. I have another competitive renderer running as a Roon end point nearby on the same network, and it’s working fine.

I’ve checked the DAC diagnostics and the Roon Diagnostics and the DAC shows up in both (It’s a Gungnir Multibit with USB Gen 5). I also have a Modi Multibit running the standard USB chip and it’s the same - shows up fine in the diagnostics, but nothing showing in Roon.

I have updated the Microrendu to the latest 2.7, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the Roon software package. And I’ve gone into the Settings for Roon and hit save. Nothing seems to work to get the mR to show up in Roon.

Also when I switch the mR back to DNLA, I can see it and play music fine through BubbleUPNP, through both DACs.

Have you enabled your mrendu in the Roon audio settings (Settings > Audio > Networked ) ? I ask, because my personal experience is that everytime I first got a new rendu renderer (I have more than one) I forgot this installation step and banged my head trying to understand why Roon could not see it . Hope this is as simple for you .

Unfortunately it doesn’t show up there under “Networked” devices :(

Go to Apps / DAC Diagnostics and see if the DAC is listed. If it's not listed the unit will not show up in Roon. If it's listed go to Settings / RoonReady and press Save.

Yep the DAC shows in there JR. did you want to see those? And I’ve saved the Roon setting multiple times and power cycled the mR multiple times as well.

MQA question...

Equipment: Roon software, uRendu, Emotiva XMC-1 (processor/DAC) USB input.  Sounds fantastic.

1. When I play a high bitrate FLAC file, the XMC-1 shows 192K as expected. (all good)

2. When I play a Tidal Master MQA file with a high bitrate, I see 44.1 or 48 (I forget which one, to be honest)

Any ideas?   It's really not a big deal because it sounds so good, but I'd like to see if I can get the DAC a 192K stream.

If it’s there, RoonReady is running, and Roon can’t see the unit then there is probably some strange network issue.

For MQA pass through you need bit perfect playback...so no DSP and not digital volume control.

Ok I had thought about this. I may plug my mR into a switch connected directly to my router (and take along my Modi Multibit DAC).

I have had about the same problems making Roon visible too, but after installing reinstalling, upgrading and so on, it was suddenly working. Rebooting your router can help too.
