Popular Post extracampine
I've not frequented this site as much recently and am therefore a little out of the loop - but why was the name changed from Computeraudiophile to Audiophilestyle? I think I prefer the former as it is a clearer description of the site. JezQ
I dont like the change either, I think the name is horrible, but I'm very much in the minority, and it's Chris' site so entirely his choice. I'm just glad it's here under whatever name. NOMBEDES 1 Link to comment
mrvco
All the good names / domains were taken. Que sera sera. Fortunately it doesn't appear to have changed or effected the community one way or the other. I'm sure there was a good reason, but I'm a bit surprised that the 'Superphonica' name wasn't used. -- My Audio System Link to comment

Popular Post mrvco
I guess the concern would be that the raison d'être could be misinterpreted by layman as debating Beats Headphone colorways and tips on choosing an interior designer to select speakers that really bring your room together. crenca, daverich4 and lucretius 1 2 -- My Audio System Link to comment
realhifi
To be honest I wouldn't think anything with "Audiophile" in it's name would be the direction to go. It sure can't be that he wants more hits! crenca 1 David Link to comment

Popular Post esldude
I hate the name too. Thought I might get used to it. So far I haven't. So whatever the reasons I'd vote to change it back. Words are weird. I happen to have a mag wheel. Why are custom car wheels called mag wheels? Because all the early ones were made with magnesium. So rather than say magnesium wheels it got shortened to mag wheels. People forgot or never knew why. So then you have aluminum alloy mag wheels. My mag wheel is actually magnesium however. I just hate the style thing. Stylish. I'd have preferred modern audiophile, or modern sounds or digital audiophiles or most things other than xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-style. Widgets for digits. Music things. Networked sound. Bits of sound. Sound bits. Maybe I'd balk at Kibbles and bits with style. Streams of sound. Sounds of the aethernet. Musical appliances for audiophiles. Master Quality Audio-style. Popular Post StephenJK
We should have had a contest. That would have given us the opportunity to pick truly terrible names like DigiphobeDungeon and MuzicalBits. Then, when AudiophileStyle came along it would have been a huge relief. Teresa
Personally, I like the name Audiophile Style. Now that music downloads and other audio files can be played on many devices other than computers I think the name change is relevant. sandyk 1 I have dementia. Axial
Audio discussions should be banned, like politics, sex and religions. Music should be under control, because some messages are taboos that shouldn't be discussed. Music videos with foul languages, bikinis, violent video games with guns and knives and bad make-ups should also be banned. Everything not family friendly oriented should be disposed in garbage trucks. Audio forums need censure. There are just too many freelancers with ideas that don't conform with the norm. I would hire inspector Clouseau, the pink panther to censure, investigate, moderate, control, impose the laws of the audio lands. I like "Audiophile Style"; it doesn't violate any law and it hurts no animals, no children, no families. It is conform to good form. Sound Matters Link to comment
Popular Post sfseay
The word Audiophile has taken on a negative connotation in my opinion. Too many people spout the Audiophile label that post BS and nonsense on forums and in audio reviews. Audiophile-style is a poor choice for a website name as it doesn’t connect with most people born after 1980. esldude and jriver 1 1 MAIN SYSTEM - SST Ambrosia 2000 Second Edition Preamp and Son of Ampzilla II Amp, dCS Debussy DAC, Bricasti M5 Streamer, PS Audio P3 Power Plant, Aurender ACS10 Server/Streamer, Focal Sopra No. 1 Speakers, JL Audio F112 Subwoofer, Elac SUB3070 Subwoofer, 20TB Synology NAS, Small Green Computer i5/1TB SSD running Roon HOME OFFICE SYSTEM - NAD M10 Integrated Amp/Streamer/DAC, Auralic Altair Streamer/DAC, Oppo BDP-103 SACD, KEF LS50 Speakers Link to comment
