Axial
⊙ https://audiophilereview.com/cd-dac-digital/a-comparison-of-sacd-vs-mqa-in-physical-format.html I thought it was worth exploring, for tomorrow's future music format generations. I'm afraid that my own experience is insufficient; I only know what I like and what I like is not enough for me to know it all. What do you like and know? Sound Matters Link to comment
new_media
A lossy format “could conceivably be the pinnacle of digital music.” Kill me now. Link to comment
new_media
I went to the label website to see if I could find some information about the provenance of this album. Looks like it was recorded, mixed and mastered in 24/96 PCM. http://evosound.com/audiophile I assume that means that the SACD is a PCM to DSD transcode, rendering this comparison essentially meaningless. The problem being a closed format, controlled by one company or more open formats. Yes, companies would prefer closed as they can control it more. No thank you.
