Neither an ethernet connection nor an HDMI cable can do that As there can not possibly be a difference in the bitstream being received by the Roku by wireless or ethernet, Roku devices no longer have ethernet ports on their devices in the UK. Maybe we are embracing the 21st Century A Roku will automatically adjust the video resolution should your internet connection drop speed. My setup is a £50 ($66) router, Roku Streaming stick £60 ($80) and a very expensive 4K TV with perfect picture of the resolution decided by Netflix and the BBC, etc and with the 'contrast and clarity' decided by my adjusting it with the remote control Sorry Donald, but I bought 2 months ago a second hand switch from Cisco and the image from my Apple TV improved substancially. Also I am feeding my router with an HDPlex and Again I felt an improvement including on my other Apple TV connected wireless. jhwalker 1 Jensen VRD-iFF>Router>Rj45>opticalModule> SFP>Buffalo2016>SFP>opticalModule >Rj45> IZen Mk3>Rj45> Delock62619>Rj45> etherRegen (Master Clock+ Mini-Circuits BLP)>SFP>opticalRendu>USB>IsoRegen> USB>Phoenix>USB>OPPO 205 (Modded)>HMS “the Perfect Match”>Proac Tablette Reference 8 Signature.
