Tommd64
I have now compared 2 farads extensively with various other power supplies such as S-booster, Keces P8-8amp version and Keces P8 double version 12 and 15 volts and the SotM SpS500 SMPS power supply. I tested them on the Mytek Brooklyn + and the Sotm SmS200 ultra and the SotM tx-usb ultra. At the Farads I opted for the version with Highend Fuses silver and Copper Level 2 cable. The Farad is obeying the winner with a nice tight low and open high. The Sotm comes close and has the advantage that the voltage is switchable. The Keces is the most powerful of the 3 but slightly less balanced in my opinion. Link to comment

By this expression I mean that the Keces sounded a bit more colorful. a bit more Bass and less tight bass and a bit sharper high. Al under some nuance.. I liked the Farad 3 the most. Tommd64
I,ll have both cables. The standard one and the Level 2 silverwire. The last one sounds more owerfull and refined. The tops are smoother. Definitely a solid improvement. kennyb123 1 Link to comment
Tommd64
You will be very glad! The Farad,s are great PSU though they need a burn in time and the connection DC cable is one of the vital parts; take a level 2 cord! Link to comment
Tommd64
Burn in time is about a week constant power on.. Link to comment
Tommd64
Markus, youre soundwise absolutely right. The best powersupply so far. Smooth gentle and refined! Total control. Link to comment
Tommd64
I think you better take more time Sir. Especially silver cables take a lot of burn in time. Sometimes in the beginning they lack high or after a couple of day,s they are mutch to sharp.... Please do you self a favour and give it time. MarkusBarkus 1 Link to comment
Tommd64
In case of the level 2 ; it,s a next step; just like a good powercable.. Link to comment
Tommd64
I,ve got 4 Farad3 powersupply,s a long with others. The level 2 cable is very important. With the orange i ‘ve got no experience. I use other ones..Always beware of glass fuses.. Link to comment
Tommd64
Better not use them if possible; the better fuses are muffled with ceramic sand. For muting the internal glass fuse. Part of the succesfull working is based on it. Link to comment
Tommd64
Don’t forget to use a propper external powercable. Link to comment
Tommd64
You,re right the orange is a ceramic fuse as well. Make sure u follow the good direction of the fuse. Link to comment
Tommd64
With copper level2 you never go wrong. Silver is always a big risk because its always a combination silver/copper. Thats not always better. Link to comment
Tommd64
I prefer a good solid copper level 2 cable and a good Powercable. Have fun. Link to comment
Tommd64
Have a lot of fun with it! Link to comment
Tommd64
I takes awhile with the orange but then youre fully rewarded!! Link to comment

The difference is absolutely noticeable. But I want time to evaluate it more. But I think it was worth the money .. I’m playing with the Orange now. I’m from the Hi-Fi tuning fuses; a notably difference. Bit more bass and dynamics. According to Matthijs it’s wise to use an 🍊 orange in twice the size ; so Europe people in stead of 400ma use 800ma Link to comment
Tommd64
Hello Markus, Farad already burned in for 14 days in their PSU , to see if they are good; so they sound great out of the box. The Purple fuse though changes the first 100 hours. So please be patient it wil be better the upcoming days! Markus8 1 Link to comment
