That's just part of the "video experience" - and why I often think videos are a waste of time. It actually takes 50 seconds or so of the 5 minutes till you get to the actual content.
Chris, that's not a criticism of you, but of the medium itself. Just part of the reason I often don't have patience for videos. Reading text is faster and allows skimming.

I’ll try to keep this relevant to the topic:) I thought the video was well made and the sound affects were a welcomed part for me. The video is very effective at showing people how simple it is to connect and add optical networking.

So...when does the first DAC with Fiber Input come out?

It's here:

http://www.artistic-fidelity.de/index.php/en/xt-serie

and here (plus on my profile photo!):

http://www.artistic-fidelity.de/index.php/en/modulare-serie

and both of these DACs simply sound great.

Please check here one of my numerous thread responses and activities in this forum to explain the concept behind these DACs.

Don't hesitate to ask further questions if you need to.

Best Regards, Raimund

Good video, I especially liked the use of ubiquity switches which are among the best if not the best on shielding EMI RFI, the sfp used is a bidi which is great just not compatible with standard dual sfps and a little more noisy rfi wise From all their fiber switches this is one of the best for multiple fiber connections

Keep the good work we love the site, very nice product from sonore

luisma --nice you mentioned the Ubiquiti. Just bought a similar model myself (2 fiber and 4 copper connections). I wanted 2 fiber connections in order to isolate my computer and router separately. From there it will be copper to a uR/IsoRegen.

One of the stated purposes of the new site name is to draw in more people.
I think that the Audiophile Five would be a great vehicle for a series of tutorials.
Some ideas off the top of my head would include:

- what is a NAS?

- what is the difference between a streamer, network bridge, network audio player, network bridge, etc.?
- how to set up a home system

- what is a SFP?

- what is a digitial to digital converter?

- what is the difference between USB, SPDIF, etc?

- what is the difference between balanced and unbalanced connections?

I've really enjoyed the series thus far.  Great job!

I think this is a great idea and I have started a blog on the site for this!  I have the first post published and several more in work.

@Superdad how is possible stater kit includes a linear power supply for only $99 if the cheapest lps of smallgreen is $159?

is it another lps? Could you send picture and specs please?

the starter kit has nothing to do with @Superdad

- he runs a different company. You need to be asking Sonore or  Small Green Computer. Go to the Sonore Sponsored Forum and ask.

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three .

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

@cmonache my swedish dealer told me that the first batch is planned to be ready in a month's time, and the next batch probably in april. Preliminary price for the Opticalrendu is 14495 sek in Sweden, which roughly translates to 1400 euro. Obviously might be cheaper in the US.

I noticed they are also releasing a an optical module: https://www.sonore.us/opticalModule.html

This might be interesting to do a fiber to ethernet conversion prior to the ethernet in on my Ayre QX-5 Twenty Ethernet to see if the isolation Chris is talking about has an impact and reduces the noise flow. Seem like this could potentially be out in front of the untraRendy instead of purchasing the Optical Rendu, Will have to see the difference in price points.
