In en0s31f6.network you should have:

[Match]
Name=en0s31f6.network

[Network]
Bridge=bridge0

You can re-run the bridge configuration script or edit it with File editor root in SYSTEM menu

After reboot.

Ha, fixed. Thanks a lot! You are the best !  👏👏👏

Hi Piero @hifi25nl

Disregard my last post... I've sorted that issue

Is there any reason why 2.6 requires more RAM for ramroot than 2.5?

I have adjusted ram min and zram min in /etc/ramroot.conf.... But I'm still about 400mb short of the required amount... I've cleaned the system, uninstalled roonserver after both packages (roonbridge and roonserver) are installed automatically after selecting install in the menu....I previously had AL2.5 ramroot working on 4gig of RAM...I can't figure out what I've done differently... Is it the package installer that that makes it bigger and if so is there any way that you could do a mini version for me again like last time?

Thanks

You can try manually

su

(root password)

bash /opt/scripts/update/menu_update.sh

(it will ask for menu password)

This way you can see errors

Hi Piero

Trying to update to menu 34, can only get to 29.

Tried the script above - however it does not pause to let me enter password.

Go to Console mode and be sure that you don't have previous downloads in /tmp.
Eventually remove them before running the script
sudo rm -f /tmp/menu_version
sudo rm -f /tmp/almenu.tar.gz
or simply reboot first.

Now edit with file editor ROOT in SYSTEM menu the file /opt/scripts/update/menu_update.sh so that read pass is in a new line (F4 to edit, F2 to save) and update from Web Interface 2 at ipaddress:5001

Here the first corrected lines of the script:

#!/bin/bash
echo "Please type your update password
?"
read pass
cd /tmp

If you still have problems try to update from console with

Type
su
(give root password)
bash /opt/scripts/update/menu_update.sh

send me the output if you see errors

@Bricki

The size of last version 261 is only marginally bigger.

If you don't need roonserver you should remove also the configurations files and library with

sudo rm -rf /var/roon

(or use file editor root in menu)

If not enough contact me

Thanks 😁

I will try to remove /var/roon directory and contact you via email if that's still not enough.

Don't seem to be able to access console mode - menu window just crashes when I click on yes.

After changing hostname using hostnamectl set-hostname <NAME> , I can no longer login using SSH or web interface 1.

Web interface 2 still opens but I'm not sure whether I can do anything using this interface to correct the problem.

Please advise

Link to comment

I cannot reproduce this.

I have changed hostname and I can access without problems Web Interface at ipaddress:8500

I remember that hostnamectl only change computer name not login user name.

Maybe you should reconfigure ssh on the client computer since it will probably think that something is wrong and you are accessing another PC. In linux you should delete the line involving Audiolinux computer in /home/audiolinux/.ssh/known_hosts

You can try to go to EXPERT menu in Web Interface 2 and disable - enable Interface 1

Did you reboot?

Yes, I rebooted. OK, I can open an SSH session by Putty just using the IP address rather than the version suggested on the AL opening screen such as audiolinux@<IP address> then giving user as audiolinux & usual password.

However, trying webinterface 1, command prompt gives new hostname HQPe4 but disconnects on entering any of the usual passwords.

Thanks

Here is output from the command you gave:

[audiolinux@HQPe4 ~]$ systemctl status webinterface@audiolinux

     Active: active (exited) since Fri 2020-08-28 15:59:59 CEST; 44min ago

   Main PID: 367 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

Second computer in a Server/Endpoint configuration cannot use bridge. Go to Network configuration and choose 4 = RESTORE original

After reinstalling shellinabox-git also check in Web Interface 2 0.4 SYSTEM status that the 2 computers have not the same MAC address

Test that the first PC can ping the second

ping ip_address_of_endpoint

If this do not solve the problem, contact me by email tomorrow.

Has anyone been successful running AL and HQP + NAA on separate boxes in a multi homed environment? Newer kernels invalidated this setup for me and don't know how to make it work. In my setup the server is connected wireless to the internet and wired to the NAA with the Dac, the server won't see the NAA and it seems it won't use that interface for multicast just the wireless main one with default gateway on it.

Any help or tips are appreciated

Answering my own post, it was easier now (for some reason I tried this before with no success)

Just adding the multicast route explicitly on the NAA connected interface did it.

ip route add 224.0.0.0/4 dev eno1

To keep it persistent just edit the specific network configuration file (in my case /etc/systemd/network/eno1.network) adding this:

[Route]
Destination=224.0.0.0/4
