I never did a test on mac anyway... The room UpMpd that you have in Linn is not related with BubbleUpnp being enabled in GentooPlayer? I only have these two options when I also have BubbleUpnp enabled. And the problem of Linn always showing 44hz 320kbps only happens in Main Room. But related to this problem, it seems a bug of Linn app, because when I change the values of tidalquality between low and lossless in /etc/upmpdcli.conf, the app always shows 44hz 320kbps, but lossless option gives way better sound quality. Related to cpu temperature I will try another profiles and see what happens. The goal is to buy a NUC to use with some Linux audio distribution. Right now I'm really enjoying GentooPlayer, and for use with Tidal (without Roon), it works wonderfully because I can use Linn app(which as a good UI/UX) without the need of BubbleUpnp(that sounds much worse to my ears). Thank you very much @antonellocaroli Link to comment

luisma
@mnuno10 and @antonellocaroli I would like to use Tidal or qobuz and I understand I could use MPD and Linn or other player. Without resorting to Roon is there a way to stream Tidal onto HQPe in the same Gentooplayer box? Link to comment

Popular Post franz159
I installed ver 2.1.0 on one of my raspberry (a Pi3B+) with Allo Boss Dac, enabling Squeezelite-R2, MPD bit perfect, upmpdcli and myMPD. I also mounted a samba share (with empty password) from another raspberry in my LAN for my music library and finally activated Ram System Mode 2. It took about 30 minutes to set up, plus 20 minutes or so for myMPD to rescan 1.5Tb of music files. All good at first attempt. Thanks again Antonello!!! This is really an excellent system! antonellocaroli and DomieMic65 1 1 Link to comment
Sebastian T.
@antonellocaroli, could you please help me install a wifi dongle with the 8822bu chipset? I did manage to use it with dietpi, but I don't know how to make it work under gentooplayer. Thank you. Link to comment
Popular Post Gavin1977
Just tried Gentooplayer following @bobfa recommendation in his Allo USBSignature review. As a long time user of Euphony I’m very impressed. Listening so far shows that the sonic signature is similar to Euphony, but the music has greater relief (reduced background processes, and lower noise floor perhaps?) vocals are also lovely and seem to have more presence and resolution. Testing was done on DNHE NUC, Paul Hynes SR7, Etherregen. Both copies of software where run from USB. I used the headless UEFI version of gentoo, the version with the xfce GUI also worked fine too. I really disliked Audiolinux, mainly because I found it to be an absolute pain to set up as I had to constantly hunt out issues and find workarounds. I had a similar experience with Gentoo Player to start with, as I tried setting it up using terminal only (following what I understood from using Audio Linux). Wasn’t great. However, use the web interface and it’s an absolute dream! So easy and everything works spot on. So make sure you use the web interface, gentooplayer is then highly recommended. I also thought that the audio benefits of Audiolinux were only moderate, not the case with GentooPlayer. It’s in the same league as Euphony, My experience so far is that it’s probably the better sounding too...and it’s free! Anyhow that some short feedback on my experience. Question... is Shairport included for airplay playback emulation? I couldn’t find it in the web interface. Thanks motberg and Aberrant-Decoder 1 1 Link to comment

Sebastian T.
Sadly, I have a Chord Qutest DAC. I couldn't find a way to make it play correctly. On the 4.19 kernels I get pops and clicks and on the 4.14 the music plays soooo slow. It stutters like crazy. I really wish I could use gentooplayer, but I feel lost. Link to comment
