GentooPlayer

Recommended Posts

Hello Antonello, I am trying GentooPlayer after Dietpi on Allo USBridge Sig with RME ADI-2 Dac.

I use RoonBridge, HPQ and I want to try Squeezelite but in I do not understand, with squeeze (R2 or normal), the frequency is limited to 192k .. while under Roon (direct) or HQP, I go up via USB until at 768k .. a USB system setting ?

Or in the Squeeze configuration ?
After reading the post, it works without worry in others .. I investigate

Hi, there is a description of network optimisation to choose the good option on an AlloUSBridge Signature and his ASIX chips ?

Il used USBridge as HQplayer endpoint.and network optimisation "GP1" but without knowing what it does !! 😛

To complete, thank you Antonello. ;)
GentooPlayer is the only distribution that allows you to use an Allo USBridge SIG without pops and cracks.
About driver, last version 2.3 includes the latest ASIX drivers (ethernet chips on USBridge -   V1.20.0  2020-04-27 )  ?

Please, howto build module with this driver source ? 😉
If i do a "make", i have :

Yes, and it works.

Only this distribution allows you to play DSD from HQP without pops and cracks.
I just wanted to test if the latest version (1.20) allows to go further (rares dropouts on DSD 256).

(V.2.0 is an Allo special nurmerotation, not from ASIX).

Actually .. the minimum 4.14.114-GentooPlayer-MIN+

Thanks Antonello

PS : I admit that I chose this kernel because it works correctly for me (Allo USBridge / RME ADI-2 DAC and NAA).
There are so many kernel, I don't know on which criteria to choose. Others would be more effective (differences in sound)?

you can use mii-tool (mii-tool --help)
example:

mii-tool -F 100baseTx-HD eth0

or if you want you can install ethtool

emerges --ask sys-apps/ethtool

Thanks Antonello.
I tried ... but the music was played in chunks ... like a buffer problem.
Finally, return to the "negociate" and 1Gb function.
I admit that allo did not really succeed its ethernet integration on the USBridge Sig

😀No, I already have a lot of tests to do with my system...😂

YES .. and I think these tests (VitOS) are truncated.
GentooPlayer works very well .. at home with Naa in IPV6 on Allo USBridge (NUC windows upstream, with double ethernet card). 👍

Question : howto made an IP fix (ipv4 AND ipv6) with ipv6 "preference" ?

ROON + HQP / Hdplex H3-i5 + 400ATX >Gustard A26 (NAA twk) > SQM > Benchmark AHB2 / Recital Audio Illumine HEFA

Historically I built a classic network: Tenda Mesh point <> cisco Meraki <> NUC <> USBridge GentooPLayer in dhcp 4 and 6.
I am using HQP in ipv6 between the nuc and the USBridge. IPV4 for the rest and Roon as a remote control.
I have a USB ethernet adapter with its power supply for the NUC.
I wanted to use the Intel inboard ethernet.
So now I have 2 ethernet cards on the NUC and I have isolated the HQP / USBridge connection leaving only IPV6 (IPV4 removal on this card).

Tenda Mesh point <> netcard 1 > ROON > HQP > netcard 2 > USBridge

HQP receive in IPV4 and send in IPV6
Of course, there is no bridge and so if I can administer the NUC via VNC, I cannot see the USBridge via SSH as before.
She is still in dynamic ipv and has kept her IP since HQP sees her.
So if I want to configure it, I must reconnect it directly to the Mesh box.

But you are right, as I did not put the 2 cards in bridge, even in IPfixe, I could not manage it.

I called this kernel test, you can find it in this update...

Is it because I mentioned "poker" to switch to the new version of Gentooplayer ??
Is the game worth it? 🙃

Finally, I reinstalled everything quietly .. choose Profile 3 (as on version 2.15).

And all in RAM.
But I have a return of random blanks ... no clicks .. some blanks .. rare.

however you can find them in the list in selectkernel, those are the last ones

No clicks or scraches with kernel version 4.19.106-GentooPlayer-RT-MIN-NOGRAPH-rt44 + ...
but, dropouts every 10/15 sec with DSD 128 (12 MB on Ethernet).

The future RT version with patches will be the right one 😉
