I've purchased the gsx 1000 and im pairing it with the akg k7xx. It sounds great and for those who dont know this amps main selling point is the 7.1 surround sound obviously used for gaming. The problem is its lacking the power to fully drive my headset. I find when watching some videos and listening to certain songs i have it cranked all the way while still not being quite loud enough. So I watched a video that is the first link listed at the top said at the one hour 3 minute mark to plug the gsx 1000 into the schiit magni 3. Will i use a 3.5mm to RCA and plug that 3.5mm end into the headphone portion of the GSX, then plug the rca into the input of the schiit magni 3 or the output? Then plugging my headphones into the front of the Magni 3? Im concerned if this will do anything to the 7.1 from the GSX 1000 as the surround sound is just as important as having my quality music while still being loud enough. (of course in 2.0 mode) Also would i plug the GSX 1000 into my pc with the provided usb cable or would the RCA cable go into the input of the Magni 3 while taking another 3.5mm to rca cable to the output of the magni 3 into the 3.5mm jack on my pc? I understand this all may sound stupid to many but i just want to make sure ive done this the proper way before finalizing any more purchases. Thanks! Link to comment
codeypalmer
By the way in windows the GSX 1000 must be set as the default device in order for 7.1 to work and i am not gonna going to constantly change that Link to comment
