It's not added value. Pure empty slogan. Marketing.

Better focus on how is build and how it's sounds.

And you know this how? Have you even listened to its predecessor or a DAC of it's ilk? I wasn't too impressed with DSD until I could listen to high rate(256 or 512) on a DAC chipless DAC with a minimal I>V stage.

Very often 44/16 sounds better because is better recorded in studio than crappy recorded 192/24 or dsd.

Recording is whats matter the most. Not some crazy run for mining less numbers...

Show me one record studio and one shop selling these records in DSD512 or DS1024. Anywhere on the planet.

If therein lies your reasoning, you might want to look more closely at what people are using this for. I primarily play redbook, and agree with you about it. What you might not know, is that many DAC chips upsample to DSD internally. What we are doing is upsampling it in a computer beforehand using different(better?) algorithms.

Which do? Part numbers please. Multibit S-D modulators are in general used, whereas DSD is inherently 1bit.

Fair enough.

I have so far not seen any comparisons about KTE vs. non-KTE versions.

For me to go for the silver transformer of the KTE does  not  make sense.

Matt

I'd have to agree about the silver transformer. It just never made sense as to why one would plate a 50/60 Hz power transformer winding with silver. It would seem to me that they would have been better off replacing the toriodal one with an R-core (or ?) that has true separation of the primary and secondary to reduce capacitive coupling of noise. What do I know though...
