I didn't say anything against that idea I am saying, is no point to pump the balloon about those numbers. You wont say, Holo is better than any Total DAC or DCS Vivaldi because can do DSD1024, aren't you? I guess it's better in the sense that it supports a higher DSD rate. Whether that translates to an audible improvement is certainly questionable and remains to be seen (heard?) -Paul DeltaWave, DISTORT, Earful, PKHarmonic, new: Multitone Analyzer Link to comment

Quote I have no idea - never used an I2S cable in my life. I did. About 25 years ago with all Audio Alchemy equipment Used all I2S connectors from transport to multiple de-jittering devices+DSP to DAC. It sounded amazing! And more recently, between SU-1 and Holo Spring 1. Also used USB-100 DDC with I2S. Tried various short LVDS/HDMI I2S cables. Modded SU-1 with better power, regulators, installed a sorted, very low phase noise oscillator. Sounded good when I tested it. A while back I switched to use USB input directly, bypassing SU-1. Sounds just as good in my opinion. I've not turned on the SU-1 since then. YMMV. -Paul DeltaWave, DISTORT, Earful, PKHarmonic, new: Multitone Analyzer Link to comment

Maybe they run it in NOS mode at 44.1k rate, which could explain... My measurement is 44.1k J-test24 file, upsampled by HQPlayer to 352.8k and Spring1 set to NOS mode. I recently ran a similar test on Spring 1 DAC in NOS mode, and this is the result (96KHz/24 bit): Seems that the Spring OS mode causes more jitter: I may try HQP at 352KHz to see if I get anything similar to your result. But still, looks nothing like the Stereophile measurements. Something was wrong with that sample, I have to believe.
