richard_crl032 Posted October 12, 2020 Share Posted October 12, 2020 Hi Wklie, Sorry for any confusion ... in summary, I am moving from wireless mesh node and shared switch to the CX server to hardwired ethernet solution ... both being from the Huawei HG8244H ONR. Indeed I cannot find fiber solution if there is no alternative ONR with working SFP port that is supported by my local ISP. I had already ordered the 25m Supra cat8 cables that is certainly shielded and will not be comfortable one at 25m into my living room's false ceiling with 2 fans and 14 led/plc downlights. Between the CX and EX, I am the Meicord opal cat 6 0.5m which I believe is indeed unshielded. Cheers. I am using a 10GTek fiber to ethernet converter to my dCS Rossini DAC and I am powering it with a Ultracap (which I had lying around unused). There's also an IsoCat ethernet filter between the 10GTek and the DAC's ethernet port. Before people ask - I have done not done any comparisons with various configurations.
