christopher3393
Krummavísur (Raven Song) - Icelandic Folk song from 1861: The Raven's Song The raven slept in a rock-rift On a cold winters night There are many things that can hurt him Many things that can hurt him Before a beautiful day came He pulls his frozen nose From underneath a big rock Underneath a big rock Everything is frozen outside You can't get anything at the beach I'm so hungry I'm so hungry If I go to a house Fat at home (a nickname for The dog) forbids me To pluck from the garbage To pluck from the garbage The earth is covered in ice There is nowhere to "set the table" (to sit and eat) Full-fledged birds can fly far. Full-fledged birds can fly far. But even though I look everywhere There's just one color What can a raven eat What can a raven eat? Dead, lying on its side is A fat mutton near a fence, Who once was fast. Once was fast. 'Caw, caw! Namesakes (Ravens), come here! Caw, caw! cos' ready for us is, a feast on cold ice. a feast on cold ice. Instrumental version: sphinxsix 1 Link to comment

sphinxsix
It's obviously hard to think of The Eagles as of non-birds-related band.. Or of Eagles of Death Metal for that matter.. There is however a band which name is also birds-related but which AFAIK hasn't created a single bird-related song in 35 years. Their probably closest avies/aviation related piece from this period was probably : 'Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman' I've actually seen them live years ago. I haven't heard of another band with a bigger number of album covers depicting.. you've guessed it right - BIRDS! This one is a little strange.. But on their last studio album (I simply love the title and the cover art) we can finally find this: Have a nice day, evening or just about anything, everybody! christopher3393 1 Link to comment

Popular Post sphinxsix
More moon or bird music..? Well.. IMO this piece is a very fine example of bird music but the artist himself .. Quote Moondog was the stage name of Louis T. Hardin ( Marysville , Kansas ( USA ) 26 May 1916 - Münster ( Germany ) 8 September 1999 ), an American composer , musician and poet . In addition to new music, he also invented new instruments, although he was blind. At the age of five he already played drums on a self-made instrument . At the age of sixteen he was blinded by the explosion of a dynamite rod . He then received autodidactic training, with a special interest in the music of the Indians . From around 1950 to 1974 , Moondog stayed as a street musician in New York , on 53st Street and 6th Avenue. He was usually dressed as a Viking . He sold his own poems. Over the years he gained fame with various jazz musicians such as Charlie Parker . His musical work was recognized by Artur Rodzinski, conductor of the New York Philharmonic . Moondog released some albums, including a story for children together with actress Julie Andrews . In the late 60s he released an LP on Columbia Records , with the track Stamping Ground , on which he gives one of his aphorisms : Machines were mice and people were once upon a time. But now it's the opposite it's twice upon a time. A single with a new recording appeared in 1970 as a promotion for the Holland Pop Festival in Rotterdam with the program of the festival on the cover of the single; the title was also used for a film about the festival. When the song was heard again in the soundtrack of the movie The Big Lebowski in 1998, it caused a revival in interest in his work. [1] He was also the inventor of new musical instruments such as the 'Oo' (a kind of small harp) and the 'Trimba', a percussion instrument. In 1974 he settled in Germany. In 1989 he performed in New York with Philip Glass . Moondog's music in 'Big Lebowski' (OT). christopher3393 and Confused 2 Link to comment
