There is some good and neutral Information around active vs passive speakers from Hans Beekhuyzen. I generally like his way of analyzing hifi topics in a more scientific way.

Scientific? Really? I suggest you look up the word so you know what it means before you use it the next time.

Main listening (small home office):

Main setup: Surge protector +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Isolation>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments.

Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three .

Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup.
Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare.

All absolute statements about audio are false :)

He has a German accent and an oscilloscope behind his shoulder. What more do you want?

I think "Germanic" might be more appropriate if you are going there. Isn't he Dutch?

He is dutch and yes you are probably right that „scientific“ is the wrong wording. This review an his other reviews are easy to understand and explain complex hifi topics in an let’s say „intelligent“ way.

Easy to understand, perhaps, but also utterly wrong.

Ooops.  Well, he ain't no 'mericun.  You can tell by the absence of a MAGA hat.

(Besides, isn't English a Germanic language?)

It was a bad choice of words in the first place. I was just trying to be nice by suggesting "Germanic". English is a Germanic language, but it's sort of a distant cousin and the accent certainly isn't Germanic. (Think how many English speakers have trouble with gutturals as in "Bach").  Dutch and German accents aren't  the same, but you  could classify the Dutch accent as Germanic, since Dutch is most definitely a Germanic language.

maybe English began as a Germanic language, but the Normans modified it quite a bit; and then...

Old English came from Saxon in the 6th century. Since then it has changed considerably, both through external influence (e.g. Norman) and by gradual mutation.

Logical would be a good word to use. Unlike some who want to be smartarses, I see good value in what's here: in the real world amplifiers are helped a great deal by having loads which are better behaved; and crossover parts which only have to handle low currents will intrinsically perform better.

Active speakers win because they're a smarter way of getting the speaker drivers to do the work - but fail because they remove the "fiddling" aspect of having a rig ... :).
