matthias
Has someone compared SQ of direct USB output from MBP/Audirvana to DAC vs. streaming to a device like Ultrarendu or USBridge with the same DAC and same USB cable ? Thanks Matt "I want to know why the musicians are on stage, not where". (John Farlowe) Link to comment
barrows
Yes. A good Ethernet Renderer like a Rendu easily sounds way better than direct USB connection of a (for example) MacBook Pro to a DAC. This performance advantage will depend on the performance of the Renderer though, not all Renderers are created equal! Dr Tone
It depends on the quality of the USB implementation in the DAC. Roon Rock->Auralic Aria G2->Schiit Yggdrasil A2->McIntosh C47->McIntosh MC301 Monos->Wilson Audio Sabrinas Link to comment

Thank you, how can I be sure that a certain USB-DAC which works with a MBP works with an Ultrarendu as well ? Matt "I want to know why the musicians are on stage, not where".
