Amarra 4/Weiss Minerva

I have the Weiss Minerva and want to UPGRADE LOL to a better dac. I am running a MM with the Weiss.

 

Would the Amarra 4 be a upward move and can I run RCA interconnects to my Pre?

I compared Weiss DAC2, the ugly box version of the Minerva, to the Sonic Studio model 4 and found the model 4 clearly superior.

I had a specialist cable manufacturer make a TLS to rca set of my favoured cables for me following the guide in the manual (leaving the ring open circuit rather than shorted to the sleeve)

This works fine.

As far as I know, the Weiss 202 cost $6495 in the US, whereas the Amarra 4 and the Metric Halo LIO-8 cost $3995 retail, the latter of which can be easily found for $3500.

 

One would hope it's better to justify such a price difference (here in the US).

Does running adaptors for RCA interconnects degrade the sound of the AM 4?

I got a cable made for the monitor output (TRS) others have used a custom D25 to RCA cable with as many outputs as they wish to use, for example using the AM4 as a crossover for active speakers.
