figures 5 and 6 show the 1kHz waveform from 16 bit and from 24 bit files. Now I can see - not only hear - the difference.

 

I know which one I prefer to play

 

would be nice to see a similar comparison not only over the two bit lenghts but also over various sample rates, i.e. 44 - 48 - 88 - 96 - 176 - 192.
