Still looking around. Just seen the CIAUDIO - VDA-2 D – A (no USB) at $599, and it may be fine for me. Have you tested this one?

 

I recently asked if USB had limits. You confirmed that it was not really a problem . OK then, but I need 12 feet of cable between my PC and the eventual DAC. In this case I wonder if the USB remains and option over a coax link from my M.Audio card (SPDIF). Less interference I think.
