Allo Volt Amp compatibility and volume functioning

Hello, is the Allo Volt https://www.allo.com/sparky-eu/volt-amp.html#downloads (which is the basic I believe) compatible with the Allo boss 1.2 by the 2 socket  j19 and j20 at the bottom? In case yes what about the volume as there is no volume attenuator included, is the hardware setup at maximum level so I could manage it by Volumio 2 (I'll use RPI3 B+ )?

I'm planning also to use the capacitor multiplier and got another question as follow:

In case of using this version of Volt Amp: https://www.allo.com/sparky-eu/volt-plus-amp.html Would it still benefit on using the Capacitor multiplier or no need?

I was also wondering if you did any sound quality benchmark between the 2 Allo Amp versions, I mean the one directly connected to the DAC and the one connected by RCA.

Hi Roberto,

 

re question 1: Yes, Volt is fully compatile with Boss v1.2 (I use this combination myself)

re question 2: Set ALSA volume to 100% (i.e. maximum output of DAC will be 100%) so you can use the full range when adjusting volume via software (e.g. volumio)

re question 3: Volt+ has the capitance multiplier on board, so no need to add this separately.
