Given how many people still rely on traditional DACs there’s no way I can have a single active system and still write about external DACs. Welcome to the club. If you take your professional responsibilities seriously (as you do), it can constrain what you might do as a private individual. I have no such agreements. If you read my review, you will see that I had some reservation about the bass extension/power and asked Putzneys about it. I would have liked a more visceral bass response but that, after considering Putzneys' arguments, the Kii's seemed quite satisfying. However, the new BXTs appear to be just what is needed to deal with the issue. semente and The Computer Audiophile 2 Kal Rubinson Senior Contributing Editor, Stereophile Link to comment

Both the Ultima Studio 2 and the Ultima Salon 2 are his designs. From a post on Audiogon:Read this post from sistercompany JBL's designer Greg Timbers. http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=193295&postcount=65Quote:"Revel product, specifically the Ultima original and current new models are and always have been designed by Mark Glazer. He began life with Infinity and moved to Revel shortly after it started up. Kevin is Director of Marketing and is involved with final voicing decisions and many other aspects of the product definition, but the acoustic engineering is done solely by Mark." esldude and Milt99 1 1 Kal Rubinson Senior Contributing Editor, Stereophile Link to comment

There are a number of references in these links to Kevin designing speakers. Are all of these references false? I have no inside info, but why would Kevin lie or not correct the interviewer? Or did Stereophile screw it up? No but I didn't express an opinion on the matter nor do I know what Stereophile published on the matter. 35 minutes ago, Blake said: Alse, the quote still seems to give Kevin some credit for some aspects of design. My understanding has always been they design with a team approach. No one person is solely responsible for designing the entire speaker. That is my understanding.
