New HDPLEX 200W LPS

Looks good. I have 2 of the older 100w models that I use on my NAS & Router.

 

I guess with the Uptone LPS 1.2 I would have to use the 12v or 19v outlets as the variable outlets max out at 2 amps so don't get to 36w?

Hmmm....still not available for ordering.

 

I've got an itchy finger to buy a 36W linear power supply for my LPS 1.2 and this very versatile unit would be great to give me some options. I hope Larry pulls it together soon.

Hmmm....that's not good.

 

I have two of the original units and yes one of them had the issue where I had to re-solder both of the connectors, which was annoying and obviously not a very good design as they broke very quickly and easily. I do note however that he has rectified this with all XLR connectors.

 

These days the units I own only do single 12v duty on my NAS and router but have worked flawlessly, the router unit hardly gets above ambient temperature and the one powering the NAS is warm to touch but nowhere near hot.

 

I would hope that Larry has addressed all of the previous issues in the new product.

Yep, mine is shipping - it's going to be interesting to see how it goes, I wanted it for the versatility. I have collected quite a few LPSs on a mission to get rid of as many switching supplies as I can and not just in my playback setup.....anywhere in my apartment or at least have no SMPSs working while listening. The improvement to my system SQ has been extraordinary.

 

I still have (2) older 100w HDPlex units just doing 12V grunt work on my NAS & Router and they hardly get warm. I'm also using the Uptone JS-2 & an LPS 1.2 as well as (2) SBooster MKI units with Ultras. I want to further power an ethernet switch and have another DAC on call. 

 

Once it arrives I will be spending a lot of time switching things around to see what works best where.

Wow! I haven't been to this thread for ages and missed the issues with some of the original supply. After reading through the thread I have checked my unit from the original batch and can confirm that:

1. It has Elna capacitors
2. The earth wire is connected as it should be

Should I be worried about the rectifier issue, is it an inherent problem that needs fixing?

 

My unit doesn't have much of a load, I am only using the 12V outlet and one of the adjustable outlets for a total of maybe 60 to 70 watts. I never use the 19V and occasionally use the 2nd adjustable outlet. So far it has performed without issue using Ghent DC cables and is on 24/7 but I would have been p***** if I had discovered that I didn't get the specified parts.
