carsten s chr
I've beeb using Amarra for quite some time now - first 1.1 and later 1.2 - and yes, really like (appreciate) the sonically improvement over iTunes ! Yesterday I decided to upgrade to the new version Amarra 2.0 - of course following the instructions (deleting existing Amarra preferences). After the installation I have absolutely no sound through Amarra - "Meters and Output Level" stays all way down, all though the "Amarra Volume Control" are all way up. The upper display (Amarra) shows my "device" perfectly - my device are "SonicWeld Diverter" (are represented on the list of equipment that Sonic Studio uses for test). When flipping over playing through Itunes (clicking the Amarra/iTunes Status Indicator) I get sound through my system - indicating that the problem are related to Amarra in some way. The lates thing is, that I have totally removed (App Cleaner) Amarra totally, and reinstalled all over - doesn't solve anything ! Oh, my system are MAC OS 10.5.8 Any information that could help me fixing this very annoying behaviour are very much appreciated ! Add: When Amarra are just launched and I start playing a track, the Amarra player automatically shifts to playing through Itunes. When I then hit the Amarra/iTunes Status Indicator (for playback through Amarra) I have no output, and the track time information (the Amarra Interface Module - hours, minutes seconds and milliseconds) displayes 00:00:00:00 - all though the track information in the iTunes pannel shows that the track continious playing. Add: I tried launchin Pure Music Player (15 days trial version) - it just worked perfectly right out of the box. This verifies that the problem are related to the Amarra 2.0 installation. Add: Problem solved !...... :-) Contacted Jonathan Reichbach (Sonic Studio) - all I can say is, that He'll for sure solve every kind of problems related to Amarra - no matter how much it takes ! He kindly asked for permission to remote my Macbook - I agreed - he sent me a link which I activated - a few numbers appeared on my screen - this numbers were given to Jonathan - a few seconds later he was actually remoting my computer. The problem was hunted down and fixed ! World class costumer support ! Best Regards Carsten S Christensen Link to comment
Christopher
Hi Carsten, At the risk of suggesting something very basic, here is a possible test for you: * Reboot your computer * Go to System Preferences * Click the Sound icon * Click the Output tab located in the middle of the Sound Preferences Window * Select SonicWeld Diverter as your Output Device (not internal speakers) * Launch Amarra (don’t play music yet) * Right click the Amara icon in your Dock (task bar) and then left click “Amarra On” * Right click the Amara icon in your Dock again and then left click “Full Volume” * Try playing music... You should have tunes? Of course, this assumes your stereo system and amp are on. If using a preamp, make sure the correct source is selected. If you were able to get music through iTunes, but not with Amarra, I gather your system is already sorted. Hope some of this is helpful... Best regards, Chris Amarra 3.0.3/iTunes-->AQVOX USB PS-->Acromag USB Isolator-->Ayre QB-9-->Ayre K-5xeMP-->W4S SX-500-->Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Super Towers-->SVS SB12-Plus (L&R). carsten s chr
Hi Chris !....... Thank you very much for your input !....... :-) Unfortunately your suggested "tread" are making no difference - still no output !...... Just to be sure; I plugged my DAC (Red Wine Audio - Isabellina) - still no output !...... Comment: in Amarra 1.2 both the SonicWeld Diverter and the Red Wine Audio DAC worked perfectly !....... I missed one important comment: When Amarra are just launched and I start playing a track, the Amarra player automatically shifts to playing through Itunes. I can't imagine I'm the only one having this problem !..... When problem are solved; information will be uploaded here in this tread - and of course to Sonic Studio. We don't want people having software problems - computers are supposed to work without any problems what so ever. Only problem are that someone have forgot to tell the computers ! Christopher
Hi again Carsten, Sorry that my first suggestion was not helpful. Your additional feedback and description regarding the problem is interesting and, indeed, puzzling. It sounds like Amarra will not recognize your music files. What types of files do you have...AIFF, ACC, FLAC, WAV or other? As a quick test, you may wish to try this... Select and highlight a tract in iTunes that will not play with Amarra software. Right click the highlighted track and then select Create AIFF version. As part of this process, iTunes will automatically create a new duplicate of the music file in AIFF format. Try playing the newly created AIFF file with Amarra. Does it work? If it does play properly, then we have to explore your music files more closely. Btw, I know this must be very frustrating. Hang in there. I’m confident someone here at CA will be able to help get this sorted for you. carsten s chr
Dear Chris ! Thanks again !....... :-) The Aiff version didn't do any difference either - verifying it's not a file format problem !..... As information; I use Apple Lossless file format through out !.... Really hope to find a sollution !...... Thanks again ! Best Regards Carsten S Christensen Link to comment
peritone
Have you tried opening your Audio Midi and looking at the settings there ?? regards Barry Link to comment
jon
This could be a permissions problem. Amarra is sensitive to ownership permissions for music files. Using finder locate a song and right click. Then click get info. At the bottom of this box is a section relating to permisions. What does it say? Which groups have ownership ie wheel read only system read and write. If your user name is missing then click the padlock and enter your password. Then click the + button and click your user name. Does this fix the problem? If yes then go to your itunes music folder and repeat above but then click the cog icon and select apply changes to enclosed files. This should fix the problem for all songs. If this does not work then contact sonic as im stuck. Link to comment

JR_Audio
Just take the volume slider in Amarra 2, move it a bit down and up again, and then you will have a sound with Amarra 2 out. Juergen Link to comment
jon.reichbach
The problem was the Volume Name was 32 characters in length. The actual limit for the length of a Volume Name is 64 characters. This will be fixed in an upcoming update. Best Jon Jonathan Reichbach .:. [email protected][br] Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
No volume because of a volume problem :~) In other words no sound output because the name of the disk was too long. Correct? Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
