Suddenly the last few days my iPad display always looks like this when I click to enlarge an album cover. It happens whether or not the album is playing.

People might be interested to know that the UK magazine Hi-Fi Choice has just done a comparative review of pretty much all the streaming services, including the new Amazon HD, and the specialist classical Prinephonic. Qobuz was the overall winner, only one to get a full five stars, and sound quality was preferred to Tidal etc.

Did Hi-Fi choice comment on the lack of exclusive mode playback using the Amazon Music HD app?

Sorry, don't have it to hand. I remember that there was a reference to the lack of compatible audio hardware - but I realise that's not what you're asking.

I was quite enthusiastic about Qobuz at first. It's nice to have HR files without dealing with MQA.

Yet, the US catalog still is far behind other services. Time and time again, I look for something out of the mainstream and find it's not there. Each time, I've found it on Amazon HD. This is discouraging, given the promises made by Qobuz that its US catalog was going to expand rapidly to become competitive with other services.

Mike - can you post some examples of what you aren't seeing. The gaps should really not be that glaring at this point, we've been adding 10,000 albums a day for the last several months.

Thanks.

Can you give us some idea which of the major labels there are still no agreements with.  At this point the missing catalogs are the only reason I have kept the Tidal subscription at all.  Also seems they have better coverage with some of the independent labels.

The major labels are all fully licensed. The majors are Universal, Sony, Warner and all their sublabels and distributed labels. Most of the independent distributors are signed, but some are slower than others getting us the music.

Off the top of your head, how closely would you say the classical catalog currently mirrors that of your own service in the EU?

I don't think 'mirror' is the right word. Some releases are on one label in Europe and a different label in the US. Some releases are not available in one territory or the other. And rights change daily,. But off the top of my head I am comfortable saying 90% match. Classical is NOT an area where we still have deals we are trying to make.

So you won't be adding labels such as Sterling to the U.S. service?

As an intensive classical listener I have discovered very many albums not available on Qobuz U.S. but available on Europe. I will switch to Qobuz France as soon as this month's subscription runs out.

On an aside, would it be possible to implement two improvements to the software?:

─Being able to select multiple tracks to add to playlists on releases such as this one. As it is, you must add tracks one at a time as you cannot select multiple tracks across groupings.

─Being able to show all tracks with a single button press on releases such as this one. In order to reach the final tracks on albums such as this you must click on '+ SHOW MORE' and scroll down several times, a very tedious and unnecessary process. A single 'SHOW ALL' button ought to do it.

You can do that with control or shift key

We will consider this request later. Many changes to the interface are to come

It can't be done currently. If you select one track and then select another track from a different grouping while holding down control or shift the previously selected track gets unselected.

Thank you. Being able to show all tracks with a single click from releases including an extensive number of tracks would be extremely useful.

Anyone else has trouble streaming this release? It won't buffer properly and is constantly halting and pausing playback. This happens both with Qobuz's own application and Audirvana.

Hi

Sorry I have no update about this?

Hello David

I understand the Canadian release is not imminent but it would be far more helpful if your website allowed potential future customers access to the site to review selection and terms rather than the large lettered banner stating (as per screenshot below) denying access.

Cheers

if they don't have any distribution agreements in place, then they wouldn't have a selection to show . . . .

wasn’t an appeal to authority (but thanks for the explanation of the obvious) and is simply a comment directed to Qobuz.   A view of any current offering, whether US or EU, would give non-users a sense of and feel for the scale of their catalogue and curation.

Impatiently awaiting the Canadian open.

I did a very short test using the iOS client last night and it seemed OK but this morning on a Mac each track plays for about 4 or 5 seconds and then skips to the next one. Occasionally, though, I was able to get some tracks to play from start to finish.

I have had no problems playing this but I use the UK Qobuz service.

OK, just tried again on the Mac and the first five tracks played right through without a problem. I then cleared the application cache and tried again. This time each of the five tracks skipped within the first 5-10 seconds of starting.
