You start your own site, fund it yourself, make your own rules,. And put up with the BS a site owner goes through, Simple +100 Live and let listen. Nobody is forced to give him money, he asks for it rather than demands it (paywall style), and everybody who donates is well aware of the rules (there will be no open P&L for all to see where the money goes etc...). Say he needed $5,000 to pay for operating the site (he must be running it pretty lean), and he collected $50,000 in donations (purely made up number). Who cares? He is providing a product people want and that's worth something. Plus, he must have a little time into it and time is more valuable than anything. I have issues with some taxes because we are forced to pay for them. All this optional stuff doesn't bother me in the least. 3 minutes ago, crenca said: I don't donate to SBAF though I could seeing I have benefited. I have followed a few links of to the Hoffman forum but because of what others have said I have wondered if it is too "moderated" to be of real use, that and I don't go down the CD mastering rabbit hole all that much. If @The Computer Audiophile started a donation/pay requirement for us heavy users I would put in my share without knowing where the money went...vacations to Disney World with the wife and kids no doubt ? We actually do have paid options but I'd never ask for money without giving something additional in return. That's why our All Access Pass enables one to browse ad-free. That said, I'd never ask anyone to purchase it and I don't judge those who have or haven't purchased it. If anyone is interested in where the money goes, I'll tell them that we are undergoing a major infrastructure upgrade. Two new dedicated servers are being setup in a new datacenter in DC that has 10 GB Ethernet to each server. All SSD disks and mountains of memory. Add in some S3, Cloudfront, Cloudflare, and many other items and we are well into four figures per month just to have CA up and running. I'm not complaining at all. I could be digging ditches for a living, so I consider running CA like a privilege. mav52, Bill Brown, christopher3393 and 5 others 5 1 2 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

Well I don't ever recall hearing about this (perhaps I was not paying attention). Just took you up on the offer though I admit your advertising here is MUCH more reasonable than most - though the flashing-gif ones do cause eye strain for me so I went ahead and purchased the All Access Pass...
