Jeff Dorgay & TONEAudio Declare War on CA

Jeff and Tone have been very good to audiophiles and music lovers alike over the past thirty years.  I've enjoyed every piece he's done.

I suspect that's why you copied Tone's legally protected content and forwarded it under your own brand name.  That makes you a thief.  Also, the less than positve things you've said about Jeff are slander and they will land you in court.

I'm more than happy to contribute to any fund to start legal action against CA for Theft and Slander.

You're exposing yourself as a D-Bag in an industry that is fine without you.

Point taken, although that comment is still quite a derogatory one versus one that seems to actually want to provide constructive criticism.

Wow, 2 of them now.

No electron left behind.

We aren’t talking about link harvesting which is generally used to describe things that web bots do.

Instead, when someone publishes an article on the web, anyone is able to make comments or discuss the article on another website. This is by design as written: https://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-concepts/ [2.2.6] Anyone can say anything about anything

This is a fundamental property of the Web by design.

Heck, it's a fundamental property of any lively intellectual discourse.

Funny.  Of course the entire point is they've learned all about this really kewl 20 year old technology that lets other websites drive traffic to yours, *for your benefit*.

Yes! In more ways than one. Folks can directly traverse links to get to the original site. Google bots also harvest these links and raise the search score of the original article.

Sane site owners use RSS and other techniques to drive traffic to their site. Y’know the way they make $ from adverts. Some people even pay Chris $$ for a spot on his page with the intention of driving traffic to their site.

The behavior of threatening someone with legal action for essentially engaging in behavior that would drive traffic to their site is frankly bizarre or perhaps just totally clueless. Whatever.

They don't see it as "for {their} benefit" because they see themselves as independent islands and competitors.  They don't want their customers (i.e. their advertisers whose equipment they sell - just as Jeff said) to get the idea that they are not a sandbox of captured eyeball/readers (even though their customers already understand this).

They all imagine they are or aspire to be "the" source of Audiophile marketing.  As you say clueless but it is how this industry understands themselves apparently...

Hey MQA, if it is not all $voodoo$, show us the math!

While at the same time sending out their entire content via RSS, thus lessening traffic to *their own* websites.
