Nice work !!

May I sugest that you place the regulator on one side, the side you will use to connect the powered device.

 

Can someone explain to me the purpose of the cable that connects the shielding from both sides ?

I assume the shielded cable has to prevent interferences from going inside the DC cable to keep the low noise DC power comming from the power supply clean.

 

Putting the power supply closer to the powered device by shortenig the cable is good.

Putting the power supply ( or the regulator !)  directly on the device without cable is probably better.

 

 

Some time ago I did a LT3045 Jack M/Jack F module to make some tests and find that the best place is on the device side.

Is the belden still the best between your Rex and Lex ?

 

Can these Ethernet cable be any good in interconnects ? ( or spdif ?)

After 1 big hour of work, I finnaly have my 5 supra cat 8 power cables !

 

The aviator plug has the shield connected to the ground. So I think it is a true Faraday cage.

 

I suggest the use of a good stripping plier,

Like a Facom 793936

 

I did not have time yet try them...

I just get the iso regen yesterday.

Definitely some big improvements in my system ! Thanks Alex for this great piece of gear.

 

I powered it first with the supra cat 8 cable at 5v with a lt3045 board. It is followed by a singxer F1 a nano digi and some fx d802 full digital tweaked (2 x lt3045 on board !) amplifiers.

 

Is that a correct way to power it ?

Amyway it works fine ! Later in the day I made one supra Dac cable as described before.

 

The sound is awsome ! I cannot say yet if the change of the dc cable is part of that. I will have to make some serious listenings.

The Supra DAC came back BIG time by the simple switch between the wires. Now each pair is connected to each pole and the drain wires of both cables are connected into a full loop.

 

Crazy! I guessed that it would make the Supra DAC more competetive against the BiLine MKII, but not ever to THIS extent! There are fibers and music glow in loads. Crispy high ends, smooth midrange and deep low ends. Air, 3D, 4D and everything else improved in a stroke of a lightning. No burn-in required at all. Just like a gate of heaven was suddenly opened for me to see all the bright lights, vivid colours and deep black colours. It really kicked the butt of any DC cable that I have ever tried before. I just love this crazy hobby! ?

 

I know what I want to do now. Change all my Ghent JSSG DC cables and Canare 4S6 into this! ?

Thank you for sharing it. It is awsome.

I had some silver plated DC cables, then SUPRA CAT 8, and finally the SUPRA DAC.

 

Just the facts : there is an audible amelioration.

A friend of mine came today, I told him Iwill make some changes, without telling him what I will do.

From CAT 8 to 20 AWG silver plated, he found the sound not as good.

Back to CAT 8, he found the sound better.

Then to SUPRA DAC, he found the sound better again.

 

It is very simple to ABX.

 

Corman please share your next findings !!

I have may be one thing different in the Supra DAC DC Cable.

I have the drain loop cable connected to the ground on the LPS side ! (the earth ground not the V-)

 

Cornan, can you try it ? I think it is slightly better than just the loop.

 

I did not put any capacitor, is it an improvement ?

You can pick the earth on any Ac plug and bring a wire to the shielding ?

No all my devices are powered in a "traditionnal" way. Earth ground is used only for shileding cables.

I still have 2 SMPS that power my full digital amps. I plan to try some linear power supply or to plug the SMPS on a totally different power line.

I like to have the same configuration on + and - wires. May be another good surprise...

I ordered the Kemet 25V 560uF capacitor yesterday. I ordered also some 16V 560uF as well, they have a slightly better ESR.

The caps helps to make the cable "stronger".

thanks you, I had the heatsinks for some time in a box. I just added them to help keeping the chip cold !
