Tidal MQA Classical Gems

I’ve been impressed by lots of MQA finds on Tidal since last posting here, but for me this is a recent standout for “being there” SQ.

I listened to this with full MQA decoding, and I have to say, this particular MQA release seems to sound significantly better than Redbook. I can't wait for Roon/Qobuz integration to happen, as I would love to compare the Qobuz Hi-Res version to this Tidal MQA version.

 

But all that aside - a lovely performance of some of my favorite pieces (Lalo, Bruch) by some of my favorite performers (Capuçon, Paavo)!

 

Also - nothing goes better with Bruch, laddie, than a glass of Bruichladdich. Sláinte!

I don’t know Mahler well outside # 2,5 and 6, but I was very taken with this as a Tidal MQA discovery:

I am by no means an audiophile, in the sense of knowledge - but having been given a complete stereo(NAD M3, Bluesound N130, Dynavoice DF-8 + 2x T12 Thunder) by my best friend/neighbor, I am very glad I stumbled across this thread in my search for MQA. BluOS to this day does not give the option to filter...
