The extra connector is a checklist item for them. And hey, a reasonable number of people are reporting benefit to the clocking, so who are we--or YOU--to say? SD, As a ISORegen and LPS 1.1 user, I also reckon this EtheRegen will be stand up on its own, so I kinda question the necessity of this external clock input/output (whatever it is ?) even if it is for $6 - actually make that $6 x thousands sold. I see enough Mutec ref 10 being in the second hand market to know that users aren't quite getting it optimised in their setup (this product is far from being a turkey). Yes, the threads tell it makes a hell of a difference, but for the numbers of external clock owners out there I am not so sure - Mutec, Antelope, Cybershaft, etc. What about the idea if the initial release EtherRegen is sold without external clocking option, and later you can guage the number of requests for a model that does? An extra $100 for a specific 50 or 75 ohm build of their choice. I just wonder how much time you spent on QA on something that was supposed to be so simple- the red IO switch for the ISORegen. With hindsight, could a ISORegen sans switch with a co-release of a cheaper Regen V2 been a viable and less problematic decision? I didn't really want to post like I'm on the advisory board, just a humble and satisfied Uptone user who hardly makes posts nowadays. Superdad and gstew 1 1 Link to comment

I'll just say that I've been in audio manufacturing long enough to state that customizations and changes are never efficient and lead to loss of profitability. Which eventually leads to higher prices and slow down in delivery. Thanks Superdad, Paul Hynes SR7 comes my to mind in that aspect. Perhaps I was thinking more the iPhone Xs, XsMax and XR options but that also doesn't exist in the audiophile world haha. Good luck with the Feb launch! ? Link to comment
k-man
If your trade-in from ultrarendu to opticalrendu (plus any further purchases of systemOptique and/or Optical module) exceeds $600, then the etherREGEN makes more sense. Link to comment

Then no need for an optical module or FMC. You can do, but that would be a path that would under-utilise EtherRegen’s killer feature. The best scenario I can think of is connecting the SFP to an existing optical network, and utilising the super duper single clean port for the endpoint that is connected to the DAC. @thyname is correct to say there is no “dirty” side, so I hope my statements don’t confuse things further. Only in the situation if both server and endpoint are both powered by JS-2, as what was discussed directly above your post. If they are not galvanically isolated between the pair, at least they are isolated from the more harmful network side (router, Wi-fi mesh, general PCs, etc). Superdad 1 Link to comment
k-man
Ehsu, by all means play around with the connections as advised by Superdad. For simplicity, power the network switch with the original supply, and just leave ER powered by the Keces. No performance issues, and you won’t have to play around with grounding. k-man
If you require more network devices connected in your music room than the etherREGEN allows, then I hope you find out your best compromise (E.g. additional ground box etc). If it’s just only your audio server, linear PS, etherREGEN and Naim in your dedicated music room, then better that network switch is plugged another place, and ADIM will handle the rest. Sorry I can’t say more, since others will prefer to read more ER related news/updates.. Superdad 1 Link to comment
Popular Post k-man
I received my international order today. Great speed from FedEx (2 days), that’s the same shipment timeframe for our local delivery. Mightily impressed. Looking forward to the weekend trying it out .
