It doesn't have to be to this same DAC but any DSD512 DAC you have, like the iFi iDSD.

You need to mention these things otherwise you will get reports of pops by people that don’t read this thread or any thread.

 

I don’t care about the DSD512+fs modulator personally but someone will use it and still complain of pops at some point. Guaranteed to happen.

But, I’m definitely now moving on from thoughts of getting the Qutest, re both potential streaming & dsd matters.

Have to re-think ... a dac that does quality pcm + dsd.

If I were recommending to a good friend, I'd say email Andrew at SGC and get a custom sonicT i7-8700K made... still a risk without testing beforehand but a smaller risk (maybe?).

Dsd256 is good on DOP, as long as your dac dac is capable of dsd512.

Yes, I was about to go with the STi9 - & then the new HQP EC modulators arrived ...

Back to the drawing board for me ... you need 4ghz+ cpu to run them to dsf256.
