Updated Yggdrasil (Analog 2) Listening Impressions

Gen 5 made my Carbon/L700 combo unlistenable. It was way too harsh in the treble. Swap over to AES and everything was golden. 

 

Edit: and this was with using my LH Labs 20G to feed the USB port

well, if they have something new think of all the cheap Yggys there will be on the 2nd hand market

If the harshness of Gen 5 is true, I hope they solve those issues by summer 2019, planning on testing the yggy and possibly picking one up around that time.

People who own Yggys for awhile don't generally sell them. When they upgrade the USB you will just have to send your Yggy back to Schiit to swap a board out.

I have experienced no such harshness with gen 5. I have a carbon usb which I replaced with an Oyaide pro usb cable. Both work great with the Yggy gen 5. The usb former sounds better than my Oppo feeding the Yggy via coax. Of course, ymmv.

Same here no harshness with Gen 5 USB, I am using an AudioQuest Diamond USB cable.
