Jamesroy
Anyone out there using these two Stellar Gain Cell DAC & Audirvana-Plus? Having Problems. I feel like I lost a lot of DR and miss and high's are harse and connecting the REGEN didn't seem to make a difference. I have tried other's Pref setting and to me the default A+ sounds best but not great. Two changes I haven't made yet is using XLR cables into my Power amp and adding the Parasound Pre amp to the mix. My Set Up: WD usb2 2TB external HD Only Music aiff’s on it + Time Machine BackUp of MacBook Pro ( I only use it for one thing and that is to serve music to my MBP & DAC) MacBook Pro 2013 8GB RAM 256 internal Flash drive usb3 and thunderbolt AudirvanaPlus Always very latest Version Regen Oyaide neo d+ Class A USB 2.0 to MacBook Pro from (REGEN) (Parasound P5 HALO Preamp not in use) Stellar Gain Cell DAC MusicLink Transparent Interface (Directional) Cables Reference B&K 200.2 S2 Power amp 225W RMS Paradigm Studio 100v.3 series speakers BiWired Thanks Link to comment
GeneZ
I had a Stellar DAC. Its not normally harsh. If you get and try a Schiit Eitr you would probably be able to do without the Audiravana and the Regen. The Eitr was developed after those other means came out. http://www.schiit.com/products/eitr It all depends upon in what dimension of life one finds themselves living in. For, one man's music is another man's noise. Link to comment
