Popular Post markf31
The recent thread discussing the costs of photography equipment, and some posts about cycling as a hobby, got me to thinking about hobbies that board members here have beyond being audiophiles. As for myself, I am a part-time/hobby woodworker. The majority of my projects are for myself or friend and family. I do accept commissions all as a result of word-of-mouth referrals, but I do not make much money on any of them and it usually serves to supplement my woodworking hobby further as more often than not any profits I make with a project get turned right back into tools or upgrades to the shop. A few examples of my work are attached here for your viewing enjoyment. Close to 95% of my work is all done with traditional hand tools. The 4th picture is of my work bench as I was in the middle of flattening a white oak panel for my last project. Only about 5% of the work on a particular project is done with power tools, and usually just my 14" bandsaw for breaking down rough stock and my 16" planer.
