Anyone using HQPD app?

Just wondering is anyone has used the android app to control HQP? I've been using Roon without any issue but frankly for what I need its a rather expensive solution.  The app looks promising.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am beta testing it.

It has a few small rough edges to be ironed out before it becomes commercially available, but it is definitely usable for playback..

The app is really "just" a remote interface to HQPlayer Desktop, so I am not sure how easy and if it will ever be able to stream music services. Much depends on how much is implemented by HQPlayer itself. For example, it does not have a database, but it relies on HQPlayer's library file.

I am a beta tester as bibo01.

HQPDcontrol is "just" a light and fast remote to control HQP over the network.

It works on Android > 5.1 (arm and intel cpu).

Unlike all the other beta testers I have no problems both on a smarthphone and a tablet.

Here are some screenshots

Hello,

I'm the author.

The application is not intended to replace programs "Roon" category.

I wanted to have a remote control tool for HQPlayer Desktop.

Control options are given by the functionality currently available in the HQPlayer API.

There is almost nothing stored on Android devices. Just the structure of the music library.

Android does not see individual files in music library and therefore has no access to ID3 tag information either. Therefore, for example, the length information for each track is not displayed (is available only after playback starts).

Best regards,

Hi Ales
even though I can never say that the app works both in the windws environment and on mac.

yes Ales, an android v. 6.0.1 and a router to which I draw the network address

Thanks for poping up, any chance you will release an iOS version in the future? If so, that would be a much better alternative for apps like windows remote control.

The whole control can be simply on iPad. iOS Roon for music library browsing and HQPD for setting the HQplayer's filter, I think it's almost a perfection solution.

Software: Roon, Tidal, HQplayer

HQplayer PC: i9 7980XE, Titan Xp, RTX 3090; i9 9900K, Titan V

DAC: Holo Audio MAY L2, T+A DAC8 DSD, exasound e12, iFi micro iDSD BL

USB tweaks: Intona, Uptone (ISO) regen, LPS-1, LPS-1.2, Sbooster Vbus2, Curious cables, SUPRA Certified HiSpeed USB cable

NAA: Logic CL100 powered by Uptone JS-2

AMP: Spectral DMC 30SV, Spectral DMA 300RS

Speaker: Magico S3 MKII

Rack: HRS SXR signature

When switching control from Win to Mac (and vice versa), do you change the IP address in HQPDcontrol?

yes, I use a router exclusively connected to windows server with the fixed, when I log on mac (portable) router sees another device, and generates a different ip

Right now I'm trying to bring down the life for Android.
It's not easy :)

The iOS port will have to wait :(

Do you always upgrade the music library in HQPDcontrol after switching?

OK.

Could you please describe the trouble once again?

I can give you the info.

Case 1

HQP on Mac OS + Volume -60 min / -10 max ----> volume on HQPDcontrol is ok

Case 2

HQP on Win Server 16 + Volume -15 min / -10 max ----> volume on HQPDcontrol is OK with PCM

HQP on Win Server 16 + Volume -15 min / -10 max ----> volume on HQPDcontrol is NOT WORKING with SDM

Personally I do not have this issue! Everything works fine!

Thanks!

I do not have DSD DAC, so I try this:

1) in HQP Settings - SDM Pack - DoP value
2) I save settings
3) HQP output is set to SDM (DSD)

After switching output type, I can not move the volume control even though I have a range of -6 to 0dB.

It looks ok. You do not have a DSD Dac!
