Pogballistics
So sampling rate is important with ext2. However i am confused at to which modulator should i use. ASDM7 allows me sample rate upto DSD256 However, ASDM7EC only allows me sample rate upto DSD64. Which one would you recommend in this case? Link to comment
Pogballistics
Yes, I get that. Thank you for your reply. However, which setting is technically superior out of those i mentioned above? Link to comment
Pogballistics
Thank you for your reply. i can stretch ASDM7EC to DSD128 as well. But since my intel nuc starts its fan, i thought maybe its a little hard on it. Hence i dialled down a bit to DSD64. I like the sound but not sure which is technically superrior. Your reply suggest the EC modulators are superior than the simple ones and will out-perform them even at lower sample rates. I have never tried ASDM5EC. How does it stand against the ASDM7EC technically speaking? Also to be clear, I have only been using the "44.1 x n" so far and haven't ever tried the "48 x n" setting. toddrhodes 1 Link to comment
Pogballistics
Thank you for your reply Todd. I think for now I can stick to poly-sinc-ext2 with ASDM7EC at 44.1 X 128. I checked my CPU usage and the %age value of Processor utilization mostly averages 65% approximately. I guess this setting will be technically superior to ASDM5EC at 44.1 x 256. Link to comment
Pogballistics
So currently I'm on poly-sinc-ext2 with ASDM7EC at 44.1 X 128. I checked my CPU usage and the %age value of Processor utilization mostly averages 65% approximately. I guess this is fine and tolerable for my intel nuc. So, I should stick with this or go DSD256 (44.1x256 with ASDM5EC)? Link to comment
Pogballistics
1 minute ago, Miska said: Well, I would personally rather use ASDM5EC at DSD256 than ASDM7EC at DSD128. The EC feature makes ASDM5EC perform pretty good too, and in some cases it may be preferable anyway, like with ESS Sabre based DACs. But give it a listen and decide yourself. Thank you very much, Miska. Link to comment
Pogballistics
I found your old post and based on that I am curious to know: Link to comment
