How to convert DSF 5.1 to DSF 2.0 (Stereo)?

I could not find discussion regarding this topic in the archives, so I apologize if it's been discussed before!

I have a DSF 5.1 album (DSD) and I want to convert it to DSF Stereo, I was hoping this could be done using dbPoweramp's conversion software, but it is not an option (I could convert it to 2 channel FLAC with dbPoweramp, but not 2 channel DSF).

Anyone know what conversion software will allow me to do this?

I do not believe this is doable in the DSD domain. This is one of the limitations of DSD - inability to perform complex DSP on the signal.

 

By all means, convert to hi-res PCM FLAC 2.0 if you need to fold down from multichannel. It's not like you'll be missing anything...

What is the source of your DSD 5.1 files?  I have about 500 of them from a combination of rips of SACDs and downloads, mostly from NativeDSD.  For the former, I do two separate decodes of the ISO file, one for mch and the other for stereo, since all of my mch SACDs also have a stereo DSD file that is separate from the mch file.  For the ones from NativeDSD, I buy the combo mch and stereo, which you can pruchase for a few euros more than the mch price.  They have been very nice, and if you bought the mch file from them, I'll bet they will sell you the stereo file for a big discount. 

 

If you are trying to mix the mch file down to stereo, I can't help.  If you get the mch into PCM, you can manipulate the levels, but it seems to me to would be a crapshoot to know what the best mix was to get to the stereo file.  Good luck.
