Yes, it cost quite a bit more than A+. The price difference was worth it to me.

Oh, I'll keep A+ around for when I go mobile with my laptop. But I am done paying for upgrades.

No one need Direct Mode if you don't think you need it... even for myself, every changes i made, with Direct Mode or playing with other users izotope settings they gave, while upsampling, why upsampling in first place you might say, because i'm no specialist in those field, my DAC seems to sounds as good as every changes i do ... it is all in the brain that rule the software keyboard... sorry not english speaking first... :)

... Hmm, you already pay every month that get that library look, not the sound you want since you said A+ sound as good...

but you can't get mobile with that fee...

Anyway, everyone is able these days to get what they want... i have all my music that i collected over the years (i'm 54) bought many CD twice (even had them in LP version before) to found out that remasters often sucks since the 2000 and + years, crushed dynamics. I don't stream since i have what i want... yes i love seeing in JRiver Artist discography or biography, but it is easy to find that live in Google now and free... I think Roon and others soft like that are just for easy people who are willing to pay to get what they want... nothing wrong with that if you can afford it...

Yes it took me maybe a year or so with Audirvana and Damien rewritten is library soft, to get my library straight and perfect,

but now it is perfect, and i don't have to pay for it :)

I think A+ sound great but look less than those paying soft... JRiver looks good like those soft, but sounds less good than A+, I think for myself that HQplayer sounds the best but library really is not there really... so for me A+ rules... and YES it as bugs that should be addressed before reaching the sky :)

i wrote all that at 2 am in the morning having a little rhum while enjoying my music... looking again at what i wrote and what you wrote just to be sure not saying comments to bug you for no reason, it is not my intention.... Why? Speed Racer you are still here complaining if Roon is so good, enjoy it and tell it in Roon's thread, people enjoy mostly A+ here...

Just to clarify.  I earlier suggested that 3.1.1 had taken a downward turn in sound quality vs the beta.  As mentioned, I started using 3.1.1 at the same time I changed my USP from Curious to Schiit.  Anyway,  turns out that the Schiit cable was causing the problem.   Great SQ with Curious.

Tidal / Qobuz--> Roon--> Fios Gigabit--> Netgear Prosafe GS105 --> Supra 8-->EtherRegen --> Fiber--> opticalRendu / CI Audio LPS --> Curious Evolved Link --> Chord Qutest--> AQ Water --> Belles Aria Integrated--> AQ Robin Hood--> Kudos Super 20's

I just upgraded to Audirvana 3.1.1. I very much like what I'm hearing. Good work, Damien! I re-shuffled my files on my external hard disk and re-synched the library. Now every title is duplicated, although Audirvana doesn't play them twice. Does Audirvana keep something in a memory so that upon synchronization, the titels are duplicated? I have all audio files on an external disk, so no possible duplcation from files on my MacBook' HDD. Thanks for any input!

@OldBigEars Good to hear it's sorted !

Main System: NAS or QOBUZ > BlueSound Node 2i > Schiit Gungnir MultiBit > PYST XLR > Schiit Mjolnir 2 or Gilmore Lite MK2

Office System: iMac > Audirvana > Schiit EITR + Audiophonics LPS25 > Metrum FLINT NOS DAC (DAC TWO chips) > Schiit Magni 3+ > Aeon Flow Open

Loudspeaker System: NAIM Muso Gen 2

@biosailor If everything else is OK and I was having those issues, I would delete the sqlite database (your library) and get Audirvana to re-create it from scratch.

Per @RunHomeSlow's earlier suggestions , I would do the following ...

Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Applications Support... Audirvana Folder...
Trash All the files in that folder (that is your database of music, back it up!) ...

I'm assuming your Audirvana database is in the default place.

Just a thought.

Main System: NAS or QOBUZ > BlueSound Node 2i > Schiit Gungnir MultiBit > PYST XLR > Schiit Mjolnir 2 or Gilmore Lite MK2

Office System: iMac > Audirvana > Schiit EITR + Audiophonics LPS25 > Metrum FLINT NOS DAC (DAC TWO chips) > Schiit Magni 3+ > Aeon Flow Open

Go to A+ Preferences > Library and select the folder/folders A+ is supposed to sync, then click on the minus sign " - " below that window to remove those from A+. (It won't affect the files themselves.) Wait while A+ does its thing, and you should get a completely empty Library window. At this point, I'd quit and restart A+ although it's probably not necessary. Then go back to Preferences>Library, click on the plus sign " + " and re-add your library folder. Go away for awhile and let A+ work. Have lunch. Do something else. (During this process you will often see lots of duplicates, but they should be gone when A+ is finished.)

Hopefully when you come back from your break, your library will be normal again.

I managed to connect A+3.1.1 with my Raspberry... I use MoOde for now.. but I see that Volumio has a dedicated iOS app .. I haven’t usd it for a long time .. any thoughts about those two OS?

i like what I hear even though the memory problems still exist to my Mac mini.

also the now that I switched from WiFi to Ethernet to all my computers the iOS app connects and keeps the connection fine! (Strange but at least it works now)

i like that I can use all my devices as one system...

Thanks, bnbayer and Charente, for the suggestions. I'll try tonight and let you know the outcome. Good suggestion 'Hopefully when you come back from your break, your library will be normal again', but I am at my work place and need to work first .-))

@damien78 Just a short question. If I plan on using A+ only to feed my mRendu, is it better to switch to Sierra? Until now I kept Yosemite because of the direct mode issues in later OS versions.

So, I did exactly what you proposed, most of all, although I didn't have dinner, the break was considerable and relaxing :-))

BUT: same problem. Every track remained duplicated, even though I had everything synched with a new location.

However, what helped was when in the Preferences menu -> Library -> Audirvana Plus data base file location the location was changed to a different folder (see screenshot). I presume, Audirvana keeps the old location that leads to track duplication in the display, although not in the actual files that contain the audio files. Now, everything is perfect again.

I  use Audirvana as a server to my raspberry with MoOde OS.

Audirvana “sees” MoOde as an output device.

In MoOde I have enabled the UPnP renderer option.

So far so good

In order the system to work in MoOde the DLNA server must be enabled too?

Thnx!!

Hi guys, I am hoping someone can help me with A+ v3.1.1.  I installed it the other day and I am enduring constant crashes, pinwheels, audio stuttering and dropouts.  I used to run v1.5.12 and had few if any problems.  I skipped v2 and just the other day installed v3.1.1 on my mid-2012 MBP (i5 @ 2.5 GHz) running Yosemite v10.10.5 with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.  I was looking forward to streaming TIDAL as well as FLAC and DSD files stored on my Melco N1ZH60 to my PS Audio DirectStream DAC with Bridge II network card, but so far it has been an exercise in frustration.  I am an experienced computer audio buff since the Squeezebox 2 days.  I have used MinimServer, Roon, Logitech Media Server, JRiver, Kazoo, A+ v1.5.x, Foobar, Amarra, XLD, xACT, Bubble UPnP, and any number of other audio software programs.  Am I doing something wrong or missing something with A+ v3.1.1?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Here is error message A+ displays when the error was:  There was an error executing SysOptimizer. Not all optimizations may be done.
Error = The operation couldn’t be completed. (CFErrorDomainLaunchd error 4.)

Maybe you want to srart from scratch... removing the old file and database of 1.5, might help.

Start fresh A+ by deleting those files…

If you have Playlists that are important export them first to desktop and
save them in a folder... when A+ is reset, you can re-import them back.
sadly to this day, the folders they were in is not back, you have to do it again...

Before doing this, maybe you should not connect after deleting those files to Roon or others...
Install A+ alone with your database... if working, log to Roon or else after

Apple hide the Home Folder in User Library at some time depending on OS System...
When you have clicked your Home Folder, and cannot see the Library Folder in there,
just do a ''cmd J'' to show the folder settings preferences and see at the bottom...
click Show Library Folder and then you'll have access to the rest forever.

Starting for new A+:
Go to the Main Library Folder... PrivilegedHelperTools folder...
Trash All the files in that folder from A+ (that folder install SysOptimizer)
Go to the Main Library Folder... LaunchDaemons Folder...
Trash All the files in that folder from A+ (SystemOptimizer and prefs files)
Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Applications Support... Audirvana Folder...
Trash All the files in that folder (that is your database of music, back it up!)
Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Preferences...
trash com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist in that folder (those are A+ software preferences)
Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Caches… com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus
trash the files in that folder

Restart MAC.  This will reset pretty much Audirvana like new.

When choosing library at first it will sync in top right main window under the logo...
LET IT GO, even better don't try to adjust windows or edit files, even playing music
while it is not finished... you'll see the progress bar going... Could be long the first time
depending on how large your library is, and MAC is fast or not...

Me too starting with a fresh system back then A+ v3 bugged with SystemOptimizer...

finally i put my backup files from old system and replace the new ones and it worked for me.

Close A+

Try deleting those files:

Go to the Main Library Folder... PrivilegedHelperTools folder...
Trash All the files in that folder from A+ (that folder install SysOptimizer)
Go to the Main Library Folder... LaunchDaemons Folder...
Trash All the files in that folder from A+ (SystemOptimizer and prefs files)

Restart Mac

Restart A+ and it will ask for installing SysOpt again... and see

No you do not need the Moode DLNA server function to be enabled, as A+ is handling your server duty,  Moode is only an endpoint/UPnP Renderer in that configuration. I use Moode that way.
