Oli Woods.
Hi! I am totally new to this... Today I connected up my new (well, its actually old) amp to my existing system. First I connected the DAC (xitel mp3 streamer) to the disc input, as it was phono as opposed to DIN for ease. This sounded horrible, as in it crackled. Which input is best suited to the DAC? I have disc, radio, tape, cd? Thanks in advance!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/oliwoods/[br]Unibody Macbook Pro - Xitel Mp3 streamer - Quad 34/Quad 405 mk2 - Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Link to comment
Audio_ELF
Connect to Radio, Tape or CD input. Don't connect to Disc input - it's more than likely Quad's term for a record player. Eloise Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
