polyandy
My usual iTunes view is "Playlists" by Songs list with the "Always show artwork" column showing. Sometimes the artwork in that column stays stuck on an old version after I change the artwork for an entire album. Playing each song shows the new correct artwork in the toolbar at the top of the window. I've tried deleting tracks and adding back; I've tried trashing the Album Artwork: Cache folder. Old artwork still reappears in that column. I'm NOT using Apple Music or iTunes Match. Do we know where that wrong artwork comes from? Thanks for any insight! Link to comment
kirkmc
Are you sure that each song only contains the correct artwork? Try selecting all the tracks for an album, copying the artwork, then deleting it and pressing OK. Select again and add the artwork. See if that fixes the problem. polyandy
Hi Kirk, Thanks for your quick reply. You're a bit of a hero to me, as my world really revolves around iTunes, such as it is! Yes, I'm selecting ALL tracks and changing artwork - I've tried deleting and replacing artwork, removing and replacing tracks, etc. But something stays stuck. Just occurred to me that I could try changing name of album/artist to try and shake it loose. I'll do that when I get home. Link to comment
kirkmc
Or try removing the files from iTunes, then readding them. Artwork gets cached, and sometimes the cache gets munged. Also, you can delete the artwork cache: Deleting the iTunes Album Artwork Cache Folder May Resolve Problems with Album Art Displaying I write about Macs, music, and more at Kirkville.
