Mostly stream Tidal HiFi either via iPhone through Airport Express or MacBook Air to Schiit Bifrost DAC. '70s-vintage Concept 3.5 receiver as preamp > SAE 2300 > Infinity Quantum 2. Probably less than $1,200 invested for some fine sound. Brings a smile to my face everyday!

We downsized to a smaller house last summer and that meant some changes to the stereo as well.  

 

Top Left

Dell laptop, used for converting digital files and basic USB drive maintenance stuff,

Bryston BDA-2 DAC, a great sounding unit with that quality analog sound they do so well,

Korg MR-2000S digital recorder, upgraded to 320 GB drive,

Yamaha TX-350 tuner for old times sake, doesn't get used much but doesn't get in the way,

APC power conditioner H15BLK, synthesizes correct voltage and frequency for all components.

Clearaudio Innovation Compact turntable with Clearaudio Universal tonearm and Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua cartridge,

Bryston BDP-2 digital player, a considerable upgrade in sound from using the Dell laptop,

Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl phono stage,

Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 800 integrated amplifier.

The speakers are without a doubt the best we've ever had.  I keep thinking that I can improve the system with a better DAC but I have a hard time finding fault with this one.

Just bought a tiny Little Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital for serious headphone listening. A little add-on to my Devialet system that has no headphone out. Very nice listening when working at my computer. It‘s amazing what they pack into these tiny boxes!

Mine consists of a pair of Harbeth C7ES3 speakers on Sound Anchor stands and a JL Audio D-108 Dominion sub driven by a McIntosh MA252 integrated amp, a Lumin D2 streamer, a Rega Apollo R CD player. The speaker cables and interconnects are by Analysis Plus and it's all plugged into a PS Audio Dectet Power Center.

Update...

 

Made all the parts that rest against cables 100% wood.  Found out that metal in racks can cause problems with unshielded cabling.   The nice bar stool found at Walmart, comes in various heights. Keep all wiring away from close contact with metal shelving, tubing, etc.   When in close proximity the metal can add a distortion to the sound and you might never know where its coming from.
