Audio_ELF
Would be interesting if you can describe what we're seeing... Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment

davidovada
After all these years, many moves and a few changes here is my current setup in Italy. It's a very quirky room. We live in a renovated 200 m/sq mansarda (attic) in a very old building, in a very old town(founded in 991). I was shocked at how good the room sounds after a long and painstaking speaker placement. It has sloped ceilings, irregular angles and opens to the rest of the house and to the outdoors. Gear is detailed in my signature. I recommend a glass of our local wine, a bit of salami, a chunk of cheese with warm focaccia - just out of the oven! iMac - iTunes(AIFF) - Squeeze 7.9- QOBUZ flac streamer - Vodafone Revolution Router - Transporter - Pathos Classic One MkIII - JM/Focal Daline 3 - dhLabs & Xindak xlr cables - Mapleshade header and footers - AppleTV3 Link to comment

Did you consider adding any room treatments? I know it would be difficult to alter the natural beauty of that room with treatments though! I will take all 3!! Where in Italy are you? I've been to Milan and Lake Como. Next year I will be headed to Southern Italy and Spain. As for room treatments it looks like you have a lot of hard, reflective surfaces (floor, low ceiling). You could treat these areas with a rug and some panels. For looks I like Vicoustic. But before you add treatments, are you happy with your sound? If so, I say enjoy more vino and buy more music! BTW, I purchase music from Qobuz and love it. Their Studio Master downloads are both eclectic and good sounding. 12TB NAS >> i7-6700 Server/Control PC >> i3-5015u NAA >> Singxer SU-1 DDC (modded) >> Holo Spring L3 DAC >> Accustic Arts Power 1 int amp >> Sonus Faber Guaneri Evolution speakers + REL T/5i sub (x2) Other components: UpTone Audio LPS1.2/IsoRegen, Fiber Switch and FMC, Windows Server 2016 OS, Audiophile Optimizer 3.0, Fidelizer Pro 6, HQ Player, Roonserver, PS Audio P3 AC regenerator, HDPlex 400W ATX & 200W Linear PSU, Light Harmonic Lightspeed Split USB cable, Synergistic Research Tungsten AC power cords, Tara Labs The One speaker cables, Tara Labs The Two Extended with HFX Station IC, Oyaide R1 outlets, Stillpoints Ultra Mini footers, Hi-Fi Tuning fuses, Vicoustic/RealTraps/GIK room treatments Link to comment
Encore
Looks really good, davidovada. If you're contemplating getting a second Pathos Classic one and running them as mono amps, I can only say go for it. The sound gets much purer, and two of them look fantastic! All best, Jens i5 Macbook Pro running Roon -> Uptone Etherregen -> custom-built Win10 PC serving as endpoint, with separate LPUs for mobo and a filtering digiboard (DIY) -> Audio Note DAC 5ish (a heavily modded 3.1X Bal) -> AN Kit One, heavily modded with silver wiring and Black Gates -> AN E-SPx Alnico on Townshend speaker bars. Vicoustic and GIK treatment. Link to comment

I've tried some simple room treatments and I do continue to experiment. Anyone know of some cat proof panels? And, thank you. Yes, I am very happy with my sound - but, like many here at CA, always looking for a bit more something something. iMac - iTunes(AIFF) - Squeeze 7.9- QOBUZ flac streamer - Vodafone Revolution Router - Transporter - Pathos Classic One MkIII - JM/Focal Daline 3 - dhLabs & Xindak xlr cables - Mapleshade header and footers - AppleTV3 Link to comment
