microRendu - Static Electricity

I have just installed a new microRendu.  The sound quality is fantastic.  I will be upgrading the power supply shortly, so I will have more to say later.

 

The thing that has my attention right now is:  when I touch the MR after walking on the rug, there appears to be a static discharge to the unit that causes a momentary shutdown of the ethernet interface.  The ethernet connect LEDs momentarily turn off.  After about 2 seconds they come back.  The MR does not appear to go offline.

 

Has this already been reported?  Is this something to be concerned about?

UPDATE

 

If the mR is streaming when I touch it and there's  a static discharge, then there is an Ethernet disconnect. After a few seconds, it reconnects with the Roon server.

Tell us about all the involved cables.

Ethernet cat 5e cable. What looks like a shielded USB cable to the benchmark DAC. Ifi iPower

I'm not sure what is happening. I would avoid touching the unit if you have a static charge build up.

Yes, I have the same experience.  To mitigate this, I first touch my power supply and then touch the mR.
