Wave64 explanation

There are two types of 64-bit WAV by supported maximal size of file.

 

1. Sony's WAV64. There used 64 bit header/block's fields (offset, block size, etc.).

 

2. RF64. It is usual WAV with additional blocks (chunks) and certain values into standard block fields for recognizing of RF64. Read more >

 

Both RF64 and WAV64 allow file size more 2 GBytes.

 

 

Bit depths 64-bit integer and float point supported for traditional WAV and AIFF, RF64 and WAV64.

 

 

 

 

Float point formats (32 and 64 bit float point bit depth) recommended use for digital audio processing (music production, mixing, mastering, re-mastering, etc.) only.

Because DAC have native support only integer bit depths.
