haastilecreation
I have ripped a couple cd's using my external OWC Mercury Pro Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Pioneer DVR-218L External DVD/CD Writer with a Firewire connection. I have been using XLD software. A lot of my rips sound like the audio is more prominent in the left channel. When i did an a to b test between the Apple Lossless file and the CD playing on my home cd player...well, the CD actually sounds fine and my files are not sounding so hot. Is this because I am using an external drive? Please help Link to comment
davidR
What settings do you have checked in the XLD preferences? Have you tried ripping in a different format like AIFF or WAV to see if the problem remains. Have you used a different program to rip like Itunes to see if it's software related? david is hear[br]http://www.tuniverse.tv Link to comment
pj
It's more likely to be a playback issue than ripping. XLD extracts digital data from disc and there is no mechanism in the process which can effect channel balance. It might be worth looking at System Preferences >Sounds > Output and check the balance slider is centred. cheers Paul Link to comment
