I have not seen such behavior. But why are you changing configuration frequently? Isn't it easier to just change the settings from front page or from a client?

This also happens when I first start HQPlayer music will not start untill I go into web page configuration and hit apply twice.Thats even without changing settings

Not enough info here.

Using NAA? Or ALSA output?

And the sequence you loaded HQPe and your NAA sometimes matters.

Ideally have your NAA loaded first, then have HQPe load.

NAA on intel nuc windows 10 powered on all the time.

So your NAA and HQPE server are BOTH always powered on and running all the time?

You pause music in the evening, and then when you come back the next day, you can't just hit play ?

You don't close Windows NAA window?

No just the NAA is powered on all the time.Don't close Windows NAA window. No when I  hit play no music.Have to hit apply in web page then music plays.

Depends on conversion ratio, but assuming RedBook to DSD256 here.

For running on CPU yes, but I think I don't have any such CPU at the moment that would be capable of running it.

For running on GPU, with current HQPlayer build it works on my RTX 2080 Ti and consumes about 6 GB of GPU memory. From GPU load of perspective, DSD512 would likely also work, but there's not enough GPU RAM on my RTX 2080 Ti (12 GB).

I'm running sinc-l 44.1 to dsd 256 asdm7 runs fine.Drop outs with ec filters.CPU 8086K

There are two

1) Intel optimized one with support for Nvidia and AMD GPUs and runs also on older CPUs.

2) AMD/(Intel) optimized one that doesn't have support GPUs or older CPUs.

Buster and FC33 builds are pretty much equivalent of the (2) now with small OS specific differences.

HQPlayer OS is like (1), but without GPU support.

Will the 2nd choice perform better if no GPU involved with a 8086k CPU
