If you don't need AMD GPU support and you are flexible with other distros, you can always use HQPlayer OS. Or alternatively use Fedora 34 Minimal (from Server installer).

 

Maintaining a Linux server always has some amount of learning curve. HQPlayer OS gets around this.

Apart from the distro differences (different release pace, packaging system, etc), AMD GPU support is not included for Fedora. Just CUDA. So that side makes it easier in respect to the challenges you've had.

ok, for now I am using the HQP OS. However... I have convinced my micro center to try and get me that ASUS / Noctua card, so I need to get it working so I can use CUDA as I feel obligated to buy it if they get it now.

What kind of error do you get when trying to connect? Connection timeout or some HTTP error?

Out of curiosity, could this be a hardware problem of some sort?  RAM perhaps? I ask because Cockpit was reporting half of the RAM in the system while glances was reporting all of the RAM in the system.

There's a new LattePanda Delta single board computer coming out. I use the 864S Alpha as the base for CAPS 20.1, but it looks like that's impossible to get now. The Delta can be had for less money through Kickstarter right now.

Hi @Miska I sat down to my system this afternoon to play some music after not using it for a couple days. This time I'm using Roon as the front end. You can see in the log that playback took almost one minute to start. I know you've mentioned DNS as a possible issue in the past. If it would be DNS, the delay would be for example here, performing DNS lookups.

 

At the later point it is just initialization delay. Likely changing filter changes the delay.

OK, I think the solution to some AMD ROCm support problems is that I drop ROCm support from the generic Ubuntu build and leave it only in the "amd" build. In any case, anybody using AMD GPU should have also AVX2 support on their CPU. Since CUDA support doesn't have similar problems, it will be included also in the generic build for now.

Are you sure you are setting the freewheel also on 4.27.0 image?

I checked twice but didn't notice a syntax error ... but there is still a very brief break that doesn't exist in version 4.26.2.
This only happens, in version 4.27, if I use the M2TECH Young dac that plays DSD in DoP format, it does not happen if I use the Khadas Tone Board dac that plays native DSD instead, everything was ok in version 4.26.2

There are no changes between 4.26.2 and 4.27.0 apart from adding MP3 support, HTTPS changes to make handshake faster, and one change to the web interface. None of those touch your DSD case. No changes to HQPlayer OS either, not even single update or anything.
