If using HQPlayer embedded OS is there a way to check CPU temp ?

You can check core temps from sysfs for example "cat /sys/devices/platform/coretemp.0/hwmon/hwmon0/temp1_input" for first core etc. This is in 1/1000th of C.

Same for example for the motherboard sensors, like "cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp"

Just try Client straight with IP (or hostname if you have functional name resolution) of the server. Then volume and profile switching should certainly work. And at least volume control from HQPDcontrol as well. I don't remember about matrix profile switching part.  @Ales Prochazka can hopefully help on that front.

@asdf1000

When the "Now playing" screen is displayed, you can scroll left and right.
This opens the "HQP Settings" or "HQP Queue" screen.
On the "HQP Settings" screen is "Matrix" drop-down list.

But when Roon is playing I don't have ability to change Matrix profile - only view.

When I press on current profile the drop-down doesn't work for me.

I'm running iOS 14.3 on iPad Air 3rd Gen

I can only change matrix profile in HQPDcontrol when Roon is paused - not while it is playing.

On HQP Embedded web browser Matrix page I can change profile while music is playing . Maybe @Miska can help to reproduce same issue to confirm if my issue is same for him ?

@Ales Prochazka, see attached screenshots on my iPhone (iOS 14.3).

The white text is when Roon is paused - I can change these settings.

The grey text is when Roon is playing - I cannot change these settings in HQPDControl app when Roon is playing. But I can change these setttings while Roon is playing using HQPe web browser page.

Hopefully this shows my issue a bit clearer.

Also @Ales Prochazka, when I use USBStreamer "input" of HQP Embedded , I don't have any volume control options in HQPDControl... when I use Roon I do have volume in HQPDControl.

Can you allow volume control when using other HQP Embedded inputs ? Like the HQPe web browser allows

See attached screenshot

You have multiple methods of adjusting the volume with Client. With volume keys, mouse wheel, drag, or using the pop-up dialog with mouse or arrow keys, etc...

Only scary thing I can think of using kinetic scrolling.

On my MacBook Air, keyboard arrow keys don't work for me.

Two finger trackpad is definitely scary.

But arrow keys working would be great.

As a holiday exercise I've made some improvements to the key bindings, hopefully it helps. From next version onwards there are three bindings for the volume:

  • Media keys
  • F11 and F12 (note this is different from the Mac media keys, which macOS has traditionally been stealing)
  • Up and Down keys

You are on some old HQPlayer Embedded version? The driver is also too old for the latest HQPlayer Embedded release which requires >= 460.27.

When you try to compile the Nvidia kernel module against realtime kernel, the makefile bails out on error saying that realtime kernels are not supported. You have a deadlock risk if you ignore the warning.

In addition, Nvidia supports following Linux distributions, which doesn't include HQPlayer OS (nor Audio Linux / Arch for that matter):

Screenshot_2020-12-25_18-34-57.png.ae54d34509db5a117709ec8241523293.png

Since I support Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora, out of these, I've chosen to support only Ubuntu. Reason is that Debian is very recent addition to this list. And Fedora support is on-off and most of the time lagging behind official Fedora releases due to Fedora's fairly rapid six months release cycle which Nvidia cannot keep up with. Two year release cycle of Ubuntu LTS is suitable from this perspective. Debian is also fairly relaxed release cycle, so I may now add CUDA support to the Debian build in future.

Also note that Ubuntu is the only one supported under WSL as well.

At this time driver 460.27.04 is beta. Last Nvidia for linux is 455.45.01

https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/167671/en-us

Sure CUDA is there and compiled fine:

[audiolinux@archaudio ~]$ ldconfig -p | grep cuda
       libicudata.so.68 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libicudata.so.68
       libicudata.so.68 (ELF) => /usr/lib32/libicudata.so.68
       libicudata.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libicudata.so
       libicudata.so (ELF) => /usr/lib32/libicudata.so
       libcuda.so.1 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libcuda.so.1
       libcuda.so (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libcuda.so

The message CUDA offload: all is telling me that CUDA is working with HQPlayer? Or not?

No it doesn't. Nvidia's CUDA stack is incompatible with realtime kernels and such. And not planned either. If you want CUDA, then the official way is to use minimal Ubuntu Server install as OS.

Okay thanks.So if purchase HQplayer embedded and install HQPlayer OS and down the road purchase a videos card for cuda and install minimal Ubuntu Server install as OS is it covered under same license ?
