I have been running Roon and HQPlayer together on a SonicTransporter i9 Optical via optical Rendu as NAA for almost a year. They work together very well. I find that every once in a while, if I have left the system unplayed for a day or two, Roon locks up (freezes when I push play), in which case I have to reboot the opticalRendu and sonicTransporter. I need some assistance getting my local files set up to play via HQPlayer (I have been using Roon plus HQPlayer to date).  I tried with limited success importing my local files into HQPlayer embedded. I provided the path on my sonicTransporter where all of my files reside. HQPlayer told me to wait 10 seconds, and then ... only 75 of my 1,000+ albums got imported.

Internal drive inside the SonicTransporter. and I have tried multiple times and waited quite some time now. Always only 75 albums get imported. The perhaps confusing element here is that it tells me it is done, but it obviously is not done.

Can I return or redirect the discussion to, how do I use my current convolution filters - which are two-channels and were created by @mitchco using Audiolense - with HQPlayer, which as far as I can see demands that you have separate convolution files for each channel, left and right?

I followed this advice (actually, @mitchco graciously assisted me in doing this work). The split filters work beautifully in HQPlayer. In fact, similar to when I moved DSD conversion/upsampling out of Roon and into HQPlayer, I am finding that the process runs more efficiently such that I am now able to use poly-sinc-ext3 with Nx Oversampling, which would cause occasional dropouts when I was running the convolution filter in Roon. So, a nice improvement. Thanks!

Thanks, that looks like a good tool. Any suggestions on a fast and easy bulk ALAC to FLAC convertor that runs on Windows and I could just point toward the music folder on my sonicTransporter? Would be excellent if it would dig into all subfolders to identify and convert files automatically.

Well, OK. I have now converted all my ALAC/M4A files to FLAC, and deleted the duplicate ALAC files. Now, I need help getting those files imported to the HQPlayer library. The screenshot below shows the blank field I need to fill; everything I try putting in there fails to get any files imported. What am I failing to understand?

That worked. I was trying to type the entire path from root directory on down. Thanks!

@Miska, I have been unable to install the last two upgrades on my sonicTransporter.  See screenshot showing error messages below.  Is this something you can address, or should I contact Small Green Computer for assistance? Thanks

I did contact SGC, and I thought I would follow up here in case anyone else is encountering this. SGC directed me to uninstall and reinstall HQPlayer, which solved the problem.

@Miska after the latest update to version 28.0, my installation shows up as a Trial subscription rather than showing my name as licensee. See below. Is this something that needs correction and, if so, what steps should I take? Thanks

Can anyone help me with upgrading to HQPE 5 on my Small Green Computer SonicTransporter i9? It came loaded with HQPE 4, which has automatically *updated* (not *upgraded*) over the years up to the current and last/final version, HQPE 4.35. I assume I have to pay to upgrade to HQPE 5, which I want to do, but want to do it right the first time on my SGC SonicTransporter. Thanks in advance.

@Rovo Perfect! Thanks. That worked. Hitting "Apply" on the config page also reloads the list of available endpoints, at least the NAA ones. It is not just for selecting endpoints! It is like "Reload / Apply"... way beyond simply refreshing the webpage, which did not seem to do much.

I had this same issue and found the same solution!
