Oppo 205's DAC

Does anyone know the highest resolution that the new 205 will play via USB? I'm hoping for 2.8 or 5.6MHz.

Are you talking about the usb DAC input or the hardrive input? I think the hardrive input will be limited to DSD64 as it is on the Sonica DAC. However, the DAC input may actually take DSD512......we shall find out. When the specs for the Sonica were being talked about in the Fall it was rumored that the Sonica would only take DSD256 via DAC usb. I emailed Oppo and told them all my customers were going to use HQplayer and would only buy a DAC that had DSD512 capabilities (well, slight exaggeration). I don't know if my email did any good but the Sonica can do DSD512 so it makes sense the 205 will do the same.

Yes, I mean the USB DAC. It does make sense that it will since the new stand alone DAC does--they'd be shooting themselves in the foot otherwise! DSD256 is probably good enough, but 512, even if overkill, will be nice! Thanks.
